Omega 311.30.44.51.01.002 wrist watches news:
For 2012 Chopard once again comes out with a new Mille Miglia watch. This time it's a GMT chronograph as a limited edition. According to Chopard, the Mille Miglia represents "consistently reinvented perfection". That sounds pretty lofty. I would go with "consistently renovated". That better represents how Chopard makes slows changes and visual enhancements to the core design. While these are expensive watches, I've always been happy with them when it comes to look, comfort, quality, and utility. The Mille Miglia GMT Chrono is an evolution on a design that we all know. Tweaks here are interesting. Let's look at the back of the watch first. Usually there would be a sapphire crystal caseback window. Given that the watch contains a modified 7750 - that we've all see before - Chopard decided to make a solid caseback. They did it with a nice Mille Miglia race engraving surrounded by a ring of perlage. I don't hide the fact that I love perlage, so this design feature appeals to me. There was a
I have a couple of watches that I inherited from my grandfather, that I am looking for some ballpark value estimates on. The Rolex is a Day-Date w/ 18k gold case and band - band is the hidden clasp type. I am pretty sure it was purchased in the 80's on a vacation to Switzerland. The Tudor is stainless steel band and case. I have no idea when the Tudor was last serviced or how old it is. Tudor is manual wind. Both are in good working condition and both keep good time. I have a slip on the Rolex from when it was serviced in the late 90's. Thats about all I know off the top of my head, there may be more info on the Rolex with the box and paperwork that I have, if there is anything else that will make a difference. Pics below. And thanks in advance. On a side note, the acrylic (or whatever it is) crystal on the Tudor is in pretty rough shape as you can see below. If anybody can suggest a place to get the watch serviced and the crystal replaced I would appreciate it.
Hi all. After over 2 years of contemplating an Omega purchase, i finally pulled the trigger on a PO last weekend I've been dreaming of this set up since I saw a guy in Paris with it back in 2010 but never had the balls to actually move from Rolex. After reading some great reviews on TRF, i figured it was time to cough up and make a purchase. To say I love it is an understatement. I switched out the rubber deployment strap for the alligator (just like the one I saw). I was a little worried of the 45mm size, but i honestly cant tell the different from other 40mm watches when it is on the wrist. Already looking at what my next Omega will be... eyeing up the Aqua TerraHope you enjoy the pics!Chris
Ever since I was a child, I have always been infatuated with watches. My mother and father are both collectors of sorts and it has definitely rubbed off on me. The sickness only has gotten worse since I purchased my first Rolex in 2005 and hasn't gotten any better since joining TRF last summer I have gone through many watches and brands since then. Including Audemars Piguet, IWC, Omega, Tudor, Panerai, etc...but for as long as I can remember I have always wanted a Patek. It has been a long, long, expensive journey full of mistakes and lots of lessons learned...Special thanks to Mr. David Farkas, aka PerpetualMan88 for making this possible. David and I go back while, this being our fourth transaction together and I can't say enough good things about our interactions. He has always taken the time to answer my stupid questions, texts, and concerns. He and I have been discussing a Patek for me for ages and he reached out when he found the perfect one. We talked about it and after some thou
