Whilst perusing the horological goods at my favorite thrift store, I came across a mid 80's Accutron Quartz. I asked to see it and opened up the back. To my surpise the movement filled the whole caseno plastic! What's the story behind these? Bulova just continued to use the Accutron name on quartz watches??? If they did, why, when they were coming out with quartz watches in both the Bulova and Caravelle lines? Are these worth picking up?

Dear members & visitors of WATCH TALK FORUMS:Mobile computing is an important part of staying connected. Currently, about 10% of our monthly traffic comes from mobile sources such as the iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), Android devices, Blackberry devices, and Windows mobile devices. The number is growing.WATCH TALK FORUMS currently supports TAPATALK which is a mobile app written for several different mobile platforms which works with our forum software, vBulletin. However, we're considering designing a custom app for WATCH TALK FORUMS which would allow even greater, more intuitive duplication of "desktop" functionality and experience than TAPATALK does. To help us decide if we should commit resources to this endeavor, I wanted to poll our membership to try and gauge interest in such an app. Because of the costs involved we would likely have to charge a most fee for the app - .99 or maybe even 1.99. How does your AP sleep at night...?
I never liked to sleep with a watch on my wrist. Mostly for fear of banging it on the headboard, the bedside table, etc. And quite frankly, without my glasses I wouldn't be able to clearly read the time at night with the lume.Normally I would just leave the watch I was wearing that day on my nightstand, and depending on the watch, sometimes on top of a microfiber cleaning cloth.But for some reason I felt that I wanted something a little more, let's say special, for my AP. So, now I just put it on the nice AP travel case every night. Sounds silly, but it makes it feel a little more special to take it out of the case every morning and strap it to my wrist.And of course, it also serves a real purpose, as it will protect the watch from accidentally being scratched against the wood, or sliding off by accident.So, what do you do with yours at night? Hi TRF,I am blessed to have an opportunity to acquire another piece. I am on the fence between acquiring the 2016 IWC Big Pilot (5009 with the number 9) or PAM 233 (am/pm). Here are my current humble collection to give you an idea of what I currently have: Black face SS Daytona, Yachtmaster, SubC, PAM 425 and PAM 557.
