Hello,I posted a thread a couple of days ago about buying a SMP 50th LE, and I appreciated the response very much. I tried to persuade my wife, but didn't work. she insisted it is not a good decision. Last night, my brother in law came to dinner and while we were talking about my recent discussion with my wife, he showed me his left wrist, and there was an IWC Inge on his wrist. He wanted to to reconsider my descision and buy the Inge instead of the SMP. when my wife walked in, he showed her the watch, and even though she didn't say much, I can tell that her look is more friendlier. Now, my question is that, should I reconsider my descision? I never own an IWC before and I would like to know how they match up? Are they in the same league? I know if I try to persuade my wife of letting me buy the IWC, the chance of nodding her head is better than the SMP. Thanksfallot
Hello,I am in need of a hairspring or a complete balance for a Vardon cld with the 747 movement. Does anyone know where I can acquire one of these without buying a donor watch? Also, would the hairspring off of any other Hamilton movement work? The 730 or 748?Thanks for your help, Jim
I have just bought the below watch and am now concerned abouts its authenticity. everything appears fine, but if you listen to it you can hear the automatic movement spinning when you hold it to your ear and turn it over, is this nomal? cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:ITI watch is lovely, im just afriad its a forgery!Any advice would be much appreciatedMany thanksJames
Howdy all,My journey continues to get an AD (NIB) DateJust 41 126334 (w/Jubilee). I have talked to AD in Australia and (with crossed arms) - We do not discount Sir ok I get it...Travelling to Singapore in November and, although the list Singapore price is more expensive taking in account Exchange rate (excl taxes), I would like to get your expert advice on how negotiable prices are in Singapore. Hoping I can haggle hard and pick one up from an AD with all the goodness that brings. I need to work the numbers with forex $ etc obviously before making a final decision. It will be my one and only Rolex so don't really care about a special relationship with my local (no discount) AD. Couple of other questions if I may:Does cash work as a lever or not matter. Do they try to add a surcharge for AMEX purchases? Thanks all :-)S.
