Hey guys!I just came across something VERY COOL ! ! !This is a formerly lost silent film about the Elgin National Watch Company circa 1931.It's about 23 minutes long and it goes through the entire process of making an Elgin watch movement! It's one thing to see old black and white still pictures of this but it is pretty crazy to be able to watch a film about it ! ! ! I've never seen anything like this before!ENJOY ! ! !Accidentally Preserved: "The House of Wonders" (1931) - the Elgin Watch Company - YouTube
A short while ago I posted that I was interested in the navy & got some good responses. Well I bit the bullet and here she is. Not a fan of the hornback clasp but hopefully I will get used to it. but overall I am loving this watch. I have been contemplating trading my Mint Condition Platinum bezel Blue dial Yachtmaster for a Black dial Rolex Daytona. The cost diff is a bit but finding the right watch has been a challenge. What have found has either been no trade situations or the price diff just to much.I decided on an alternative and boy am I happy with the result. Why have one watch when I can have 2I bought myself a beautiful Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow that I couldn't be happier with!image.jpg
-Any of you sitting back on purchases based on the economy and watch market?I ask because every few years I'm fortunate to travel to Asia and have built a relationship with a dealer. This means I can score a blue 5711 or a 15202st and buy new below what these sell for used in the USA. At the same time, I already have a couple of PP and so I wonder...Just curious,J
Noticed something concerning on my watch today and was wondering if it's normal on the 233. If you look at the crystal edges from the top (looking at the dial), it appears like the edges of the crystal (sides on the inside facing towards the case) are dirty or the crystal is sitting on the inner flange of the case and that part of the sad is dirty. Basically where the crystal and case meet. Seems to be all around the circumference of the crystal and I don't think its glue? Can someone confirm this please. Here's a pic of the issue.
