Older Tag Heuers
I was looking around on ebay for older watches and ran into the Tag Heuer 1000 series. How common are the automatics and do they command a premium in price? If so, how much should I expect to pay for one in decent (doesn't have to be perfect) condition? Also, any thoughts you might like to share on the watch itself would be much appreciated.Jeff

What Constitutes 'Rare'?
Or, "Why do Thors get the big bucks?" In the last few months, since I've been watching Ebay closely, I've noticed something. There's ALWAYS at least one 'Thor' up for auction. Lovely watch, great movement, but it's a gold filled case. They always go for (relatively) big bucks.I have two gold-filled Hamiltons with the same 770 movement - a Peyton and a Chapman. I picked up each for about $60, in good running order.In that same time, I've seen 1 Chapman, and 1 Peyton. The former went for $85, and the other got no bids (starting price of $150).I understand that the Thor is a much more attractive watch than either the Peyton or Chapman, which are pretty mundane by comparison. Still, does the absence of them from Ebay suggest they're actually MORE rare than the Thor? The question's really just for my own amusement, since I know why Hamilton's asymmetrical watches are so much more desired.

New to Omega, Which one?
I'm considering purchasing my first Omega and would love some feedback. I'm thinking of choosing between the Speedy and Seamaster Pro. First, neither is better suited for the life I actually live, only the life I would like to live - so either deep sea diving or space travel seems ok. I love the SMP and have even been looking at one with a black leather band. However, I also love the heritage of the Speedmaster and would love a manual wind tool watch. Any thoughts for an Omega newbie?

Stepping into the PP gateway
Hi everyone, I have recently been looking into PP as they are fascinating watches. I am a huge fan of the Nautilus line, and I also do like the complications that they offer. As entry into uncharted waters, I would love to hear some opinions since it seems like everyone in this sub forum is far past this stage in their horological journey. I apologize in advance if my thread is a bit dull. While I love the Nautilus', the 5170p moves mountains for me, but the price range would slow me down a bit in obtaining one. I also do not have an AC or a GMT for that fact, so everything is pretty much open game. I currently have an AP chronograph that I feel is worth mentioning. The watches in question are:5726 black dial59905170pAs this is an entry move for me, should I move in with a nautilus, or should I just hold off until I am ready for the 5170p? Granted that the 5170p would be a heavy favor against a single Nautilus, would I be missing out on the nautilus line in terms of AC/GMT/bracelet/etc
