Panerai PAM00651 wrist watches news:
What is the status of Hamilton's round dial watches among collectors?I'm new to vintage Hamiltons, but it seems the rectangular watches garner the lion's share of interest, with notable exceptions like the Piping Rock and Spur. Maybe I'm missing something, but searching through past threads I don't find as much discussion of Nords, Langs, Kirks and Secometers as I do the rectangular models. Are the round dial watches less desirable to collectors? Which models are the most desirable? What's the history of the round dials? Were they always less popular with the public? Are they "American Pateks" or just "good" watches? Please forgive my ignorance, but I guess I'm looking for a frame of reference to better understand the position of Hamilton's round dial offerings in the company's history. Aesthetically, I like the Nords, Stormkings, Secometers, etc but I know very little about them. I'd appreciate whatever lessons anyone might offer!piscator
My OM served me well. :)
Just more bang for your buck IMO,have an early 50`s Seamaster beefy lug s/s keeps better time than my just serviced Rolex datejust!
Heading to Orlando later this week to meet up with family and do the Disney thing. Any suggestions on nightlife ? Me and a few guys are looking for cigar bars or places for a cigar . My wife and I looking for some cool bars or restaurants at night. This group is always the best for this kind of information. Thanks guys
Happy New Year, everyone! So, I'm particularly fond of the rose gold, black lacquer Cellini - ref 50505 - but of course cannot stomach paying MSRP for it, which is around 15,000 USD. I've looked and looked and what I find online is somewhat bizarre. Essentially, everyone offering the piece for sale, be it gray market or pre-owned, wants something in the 9000-12000 USD range, but almost all the watch pricing aggregator sites swear that it's value is closer to 4000-8000 tops (NIB). I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out what's fair to offer to sellers...thoughts on this one?
