Press release - dedicated to the inventor of the first "writer time" for the first of its own first-calibre, Montblanc has created a chronograph of historic proportions, the name of the inventor of the chronograph: Nicolas Rieussec, who, in 1821, developed a watch with rotating dials in which an ink marker attached to the fixed index wrote the downtime. The Future of Watches
New technology ALWAYS replaces old technology. Jet engines replaced piston engines. Auto transmissions replaced stick shifts. And cars replaced horses. It will be the same in watches. The new technology in watches allows light driven power systems to replace batteries, wind-ups and autos. And all at lower cost in many cases. And we now have watches where the time is adjusted by radio and/or satelite. The dominant watches of the future will be light driven and radio sdjusted. And everthing else will all be yesterday.
