Bremont Introduces the ALT1-ZT/51
Last year at Basel (2015), Bremont introduced the new ALT1-ZT, a more modern and graphic spin on their ALT1 chronograph line. Having once reviewed the ALT1-B, I found the cleaner design of the ZT to be refreshing, more legible and more unique. Well with Basel World 2016 just around the corner, Bremont has announced a new version of the ZT that might just be one of their sexiest designs to date.The ALT1-ZT/51 takes the ZT and gives it a stylized overhaul vis-a-vis their limited edition and highly coveted P-51 chronograph. The P-51 is, in my eyes, the coolest watch Bremont has ever produced. One of their earlier forays into using historical material in a watch, the P-51 featured pieces of its namesake plane, but more over a design that oozed style and personality. The 3-6-9 dial featured a contrast 30-minute counter at 12, a hidden seconds-dial at 9 with a propeller hand and no hour counter, giving it the appearance of a single register chronograph. Despite swearing blind I wouldn't buy another Omega (after the problems with my Bond Planet Ocean) I went ahead and bought another Seamaster after it caught my eye in a shop I walked past.I'd always wanted a white faced Omega after a Great White caught my eye years ago, sadly the GMT is pretty hard to come by.Its a 'Bond' 2532 but with the white face, which IMHO is a nicer looking watch.Its the only one I've ever seen in the flesh, so thought I'd better buy it.Did they make less of these with the white face, because it seems to be pretty rare?

Purchased my first Hamilton watch.
I just started collecting watches late in 2007. I have 8 with todays purchase. Most of the others are Invicta watches. I've been checking out Hamilton watches for the last few months. Have seen many on line that I liked, but I wanted to see them in person before making a buying decision.About a month ago I took the 54 mile drive to my nearest Hamilton A.D. and viewed the 6 watches they had in stock. None of them appealed to me.With the nice weather we had today in western NY. I decided to make the 103 mile trip to my second closest Hamilton A.D.. (Pay dirt.) They had almost every model that I have been viewing on the web. Seeing them in person I was able to eliminate 2 of the models I thought I wanted, but added 2 models to my wish list I wasn't even considering.I walked out of the store with a Khaki King Scuba Automatic. Break in period for a new mechanical?
Is there such a thing as a break in period on a new watch? As in should you give it several months/a couple of years to settle in before having it regulated. Or have it serviced after the first year and then move into a 3-4 year service schedule after that?
