For 2014, Fendi will release a collection of women's watches known as the Crazy Carats on mink fur straps. I've often asked myself how much people want watch straps with fur. Assuming it isn't some emergency attempt to warm up your wrist, the idea of having a timepiece buried in a muff of hair (real or otherwise) never really sounded like a good idea. In fact, back in 2009 I discovered the most amazing timepiece from a man I had never heard of, and have never heard of since. Since then, the watch has come up in conversation from time to time when people say, "Hey Ariel, do you remember that Fraggle Fur watch?" Oh yes, I remember it.Fraggle Fur is the pet name I gave to a watch I deemed to be most amusingly ugly that was produced by the French artist Andre Checa, and I discussed it here. Yard Sale Find
Stopped by an inside yard sale (HUH??) and found these two watches. Don't know if they're worth anything, but for $3.00 for both (!), I figured I had nothing to lose.One is a (What I presume to be) mens Bulova. The dial is damaged, but the blue hands are iintriguing. It runs fast, gaining about 4 minutes in an hour. I like the look of this watch.The other one is a ladies Gruen Precision and this one keep very good time, having only gained a minute since I set it nearly 24 hours ago. My wife likes this one. However, the band is very small and won't even fit over my wrist. Don't know if they even makes bands for this type of watch anymre.Anyone know the year/era these are from? I assume the Bulova is from @ the 1930's, no?

15202st vs. dishwashing liquid?
Hey guys,I gifted myself a 15202st to commemorate my 30th birthday - a decision I have been very happy about so far.Being new to AP, I'd like to hear your recommendations and experience with keeping the 15202st clean, shiny and without scratches.Usually I give my watches a soak in a mildly warm glass of water with a small touch of dish washing liquid, let it soak for 10-15 minutes and dry it off with a soft cloth. Does this also go with the 15202st and its 30m depth rating?

My new favorite..
Just thought I would share with fellow 'Patekoholics' my latest acquisition.. The 5905 in blue. It's surprisingly versatile as you can see in the photo, and I'm really warming up to the clean, modern dial. The 5960 will always hold a special place in my heart since it was my first Patek. However, the blue sunburst dial, along with the 42mm size makes this piece a keeper and difficult to take off the wrist! IMHO, Patek did a great job with this one. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
