Patek Philippe 5940G-001 wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Stephen Forsey, co-founder of independent brand Greubel Forsey.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Stephen Forsey: Born in St. Albans, England, I inherited my passion for the intricacies of mechanics from my father. From 1987, I specialized in antique watch restoration, which led to a position as head of Asprey¡¯s prestigious watch restoration department, and then furthered my horological education at WOSTEP in Switzerland. In 1992, I joined Robert Greubel¡¯s team at Renaud & Papi, where I worked on the most complicated mechanical movements. ?Then, in 1999, I chose to become independent. In 2001, together with Robert Greubel, I founded CompliTime SA, a company whose goal is to create and develop complicated mechanisms for
The Legacy Machine Perpetual Calendar was the very first true high complication from MB&F, which seems very difficult to believe at first, because the impression one has of the company, and its watches, is exactly the one of exclusivity and ingenuity that you ordinarily associate with the traditional high complications. The perpetual calendar in the Legacy Machine Perpetual is like every other perpetual calendar ever made in that it allows the watch to correctly show the date, whether or not the month in question has 31, 30, 29, or 28 days in it. How it does what it does isn’t arbitrary, either – it’s an essential part of the fantastic aesthetics of the watch. To understand how the Legacy Machine Perpetual can look the way it does, you need to understand what a perpetual calendar is, how it works, and how the Legacy Machine takes the basic principles of a traditional perpetual calendar and modifies them in order to allow it to look like no other perpetual calendar

Hello,So far fetched question that I want/need advice on. I found a Rolex being sold online, however, with the seller being in another state I don¡¯t have the ability to meet and see this timepiece at an AD to confirm authenticity. If I could coordinate the seller with a local AD to have authenticity confirmed...would an AD be willing to ship it for me? Anyone ever do nything like this or have another idea? Thanks for the help!
