Patek Philippe 1509 wrist watches news:
Here is the "Dollfus" Perpetual Calendar, nicknamed after its original owner – sold at auction in 2011, and not seen in public since. Though it's well known in enthusiast circles both by name and reputation, we thought today – Leap Day – would be a great opportunity to look back at this historic watch - the first perpetual calendar wristwatch. When this particular watch was first sold, the price to the new owner, Mr. Jean Dollfus, was 11,000 Swiss Francs. It was a lot of money then, and today it would be considerably more, but even the inflation adjusted price pales in comparison to what it fetched at auction at Christie's, in 2011: $475,618. It's obviously an enormous sum of money, but the price becomes easier to understand, when you understand what the watch represents. 1 OF 4 It's quite simply one of the most important vintage wristwatches ever made by Breguet, and perhaps the single most important perpetual
What does the -2 in ETA movements 2824-2, 2893-2 etc? Also they mentioned grades (standard, elabore, chronometer) but I thought I read somewhere that possibly the added -2 combined all grades to mean the Same?
Just 2 hours into getting my brand new Sparta Two Open Lithium and spending some time testing it, I discovered that the left winder does not operate on the extended cycle when the switch is set to 15. It turns at 10 mins intervals even when the switch is set to 15.The right winder is fine though. I've checked and double checked, turned the unit on and off, removed and re-inserted the batteries and to my dismay it still happens.I'm located in Singapore and I purchased my Sparta from the Watch Prince and had it shipped here from the US.What should I do now? UPDATE: When the left winder is set to 10, it turns every minute! I can't believe this :(
The SIHH show has been moved to January starting in 2009. Any predictions or desires that anyone would like to see come from the SIHH members? A Lange & Sohne is a member of SIHH.
I absolutely love both models but when you see pics of both you have a hard time believing that the AP is 0,2 mm thinner, as it looks, on pics much thicker to me, anyone have the same feeling about this?
