Patek Philippe 5500R wrist watches news:
I am trying to build a small collection of 1958 watches, tha's my birth year. I always loved vintage Hamilton electric but I know that they haven't a sure date system (serial etc). So I choosed the Titan that, other than I really love its deco stye) as far as I know was produced only for one year, from end of 1957 to 1958 (at least it is present only on 1958 catalog and disappeared from 1959 one). After some search I found on ebay this one with white dial in very nice conditions and already serviced and I got it, even though I usually prefer black dials. The seller was very nice and knowing of my preference offered to look for another dial to eventually have refinished in black. Than, a few days ago, he alerted me that one original black dial for the Titan was on ebay. I bought that too so when it will arrive here in Italy I will have the choice of both dials. The watch arrived a few days ago, it's in really great conditions, wth a nice patine on the dial. Here are some pics for your r
Guys, need your kind assistance. I'm collating data on:1. Wrist size at joint2. Size of largest and smallest watch you wear.3. Size of watch you usually wear.I'll see if I can produce a chart if there's enough data points. Should be a good guide for anyone unsure about watch size, esp. buying from the net without trying a watch on.
Hi all, need an advice on the above topic. Hope to hear your opinions. My collection is a 5980R (leather strap) and a Rolex subc no date. Have attached pics that I tried today. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi All,Newbie here. I bought this about 14 years ago. I remember it was a Schumacher edition (the first I think) but not sure of the model. I had it restored a year ago by Stahl since they are local (no affiliation)..americaswatchmaker/Anyway, its basically perfect with a new OE Omega bracelet. They said it is fairly rare. Ok, cut to the chase. I have a brand new GMT and don't really need both watches. I literally just got the GMT and am wearing for a few days to make sure I like it before I do anything. I love the Omega but it is a PAI to keep the day, date, month correct.......so its always off. Plus I'm getting somewhat bored with it. Can you guys let me know what model it is and an approximate value? This isn't a thread to sell. I just want to know what I have. Also ready for the flames
Hi,I'm just curious if my annual calendar stops at 1 am. I want to wear it few days later and it's 3pm. Is it safe to set the watch during this time of day? I remember reading somewhere that it's not good to set time between 10pm and 3am?
