Piaget G0A33075 wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Elie Bernheim, the third-generation leader at the helm of Raymond Weil. We think you'll find it interesting to hear from someone who quite literally grew up in the industry.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Elie Bernheim: I'm the grandson of the eponymous founder of the independent watch brand, Raymond Weil. I'm also the third generation to lead the family Company, succeeding my father, Olivier Bernheim, who headed the Company for 18 years.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?Elie Bernheim: I grew up in the watchmaking industry. It has always been part of my childhood, my life, and thus a long-standing passion! It was evident for me to join the family business and continue the work that my grandfather starte
Beyond the highly-stylized entrance of Private Eyes lays what can be best described as an anachronistic incubator for vintage watch collecting. Not hyper-speculative, inflation-averse watch collecting, but the type of passionate, reverential collecting that has more to do with a true?respect for old-world design of both the aesthetic and technical sort. While the commodity-level watches on the ground level do reflect a fine appreciation for vintage watches, I was grateful to be shown a selection of the proprietor's personal favorites ¨C?some truly stunning examples of watches that he would never part with (and some that he would), that made the trip to this mostly residential Tokyo neighborhood more than justified. 2 OF 45 The bi-level space is situated on a corner of the neighborhood's main thoroughfare. Admittedly, I was surprised by the size of the space, which is large by both vintage watch shop standards?and?Japanese retail standards. On the ground floor (pic
The tortoise is back¡..One of the stars of this year¡¯s edition of Baselworld is the watch of the US-based fashion watch brand Nixon. They have created a watch with inlays of tortoise. But don¡¯t worry not the genuine stuff. Poor animals. Nixon¡¯s and their suppliers have developed a process using chips made of polycarbonate. These chips can be milled or stamped like metal and afford a unique look to the watch¡¯s bezel and the links of the bracelet.According to Nixon¡¯s the material resists wear and tear better than steel and is light-weight.It better had be as the watches sporting this new material are rather large. Judging from the trek of the development people of many watch brands to the Nixon booth in hall 1.1 Nixon¡¯s are having a winner.
Hi all,I recently replaced my Deepsea with a SD43, I loved the Deepsea but it was just a little too thick for my wrist. My SD43 was sized in the AD with 4 1/2 links on the 6 o clock side and 3 1/2 links with the divers extension on the 12 o clock side. Glide lock is one click from fully in and the bracelet fits great for size. This leaves me with 3 spare links.I¡¯m thinking of removing the divers extension to get a little more curvature, have many of you done this or left it as standard with divers extension installed? I know a lot did it with DS. My wrist size is 6.75¡± but pretty flat. For anyone with a similar wrist size, how many links have you got at each side to balance the bracelet? Also I never really took notice at the AD before it was sized but does anyone know how the bracelets come from the factory, is it 5 1/2 links at 6 o clock and the rest at 12?Many thanks. :)
Posted my BLNR for sale and received 14 inquiries in a day, sold now, along with every other BLNR listing in the past 48 hours (4 by my count). Even with my ceramic Daytona it was nowhere near as hot. Any idea why the sudden surge in demand? Could it be we will finally see it discontinued..?
