Ronin Watches ?appeared on the ?scene a year ago with their first model, the Ronin Pilot. Owner Phil started the brand after lusting after more expensive pilot watches. Finding them to be too pricey, he founded Ronin Watches with the motto "quality watches at prices that make sense." His goal was to make watches people wanted out of quality materials yet keep the cost down so that they were affordable. or Windy's gonna kill me if she finds out how much I've been spending on "old watches" lately. I really wasn't looking for another watch after snagging the AP. Then an evil enabler called me to blow me out of the water with the Seamaster Pie Pan 355 so I had to have that too. That should have been it since I went WAY over budget to get that, and was happy as a dog in a butcher shop to do it. Well, the Watch Gods either love me and are shining good fortune uponst me in my quest to finish my collection of bumper 35x movements, or they hate me and want to cause my financial demise. I can't figure out which yet, but in the mean time I'll share the gem they guided me to - a '54 reference 2799 Constellation De Luxe caliber 354 in near mint condition:Usually it takes time to track one of these down, but I'm having a hall of fame spring so it figures this would pop up. A quick phone call to the unnamed evil enabler, a brief e-mail session with Desmond (because I will NOT buy a Connie wit

Strap ideas for my Yellow Mako?
Good Afternoon, all.I have had my yellow Mako on mesh for a while but I feel like it's time for a change. I was thinking about a black and yellow band, leaning toward leather. No NATOS or Maratacs. As of now, I'm thinking of these two. Let me know your opinions on these and please do shed your opinion on other options! Rik,Another 2836-2 question. I bought a Tutima FX UTC nearly 2-1/2 years ago. Several months after purchasing the watch, I tried to set the date and the crown would just spin. I sent the watch into Tutima service, and that fixed the date setting problem. I did notice however that when manually winding the watch, the crown would have a sound almost like a bezel turning. The watch would also seem to take more turns to manually wind (although with an automatic without a power reserve indicator, you can never quite tell). Recently, when trying to set the UTC hand, I had to turn the crown many times to move the UTC hand one hour. The date set with no problem. Do I need to take the watch in for service? The UTC hand, date and time work fine once the watch is running. Can I wait until the watch needs a cleaning/oiling service to have it looked at? Thanks.
