Rado 180.0286.5 wrist watches news:
Hi Guys, This is my first day on WTF (I still feel odd posting that..), and one of the fellows in the General forum suggested I post some of my Omega photos over here too so here goes! This is my Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm. I bought it on the rubber strap, but I wear it all the time on the Omega Mesh now:I had this 45mm PO, but it was just a tad to large for my wrist so I sold it and got the 42mm instead:I just got this SMP 2255.80.00 Electric Blue a couple of weeks ago, and man do I love it! That's a rain drop on the clasp.. I owned these three in the past and still kick myself on a regular basis for letting them get away. Especially the Day/Date which I'd like to reacquire at some point (note the empty money clip.. )One of these days I'd like to have a Gen. 2 X-33 as well..
I’m starting to seriously look around at another “nice” watch, and have pretty much narrowed it down to a Breitling (Super Ocean, Avenger, etc) or an Omega. The Omegas I’m looking at are the 45mm Seamaster PO, Speedmaster, and the watch I gave away, my Bond Seamaster.Anyway, I’m a big, big fan of sapphire crystals The one on the Omega I had and the one on my Oris truly seem indestructible. They’ve been put through Hell, and nary a scratch. Now, it’s always been my understanding that the Speedmaster did not come with a sapphire crystal, and that scratching was something of an issue. Lately, though, through my searches, I’m seeing Speedmasters advertised (all in the “pre-owned” market) with sapphire crystals, so I’m a bit confused.Has Omega started doing that? Are these crystals retrofits? If so, how would that affect resale value (just want to make sure I’m not paying too much)? Any issues with watertight integrity?O
