I don't think that the Bulgari Octo Maserati is necessarily an exception to this rule, but there is undoubtedly something to say about the understated way that this old Italian brand continues its partnership?with, well, another old Italian brand ¨C Maserati ¨C to present a?limited edition timepiece in?celebration of their shared anniversaries in 2014. Hey guys ! ! !I finished up with my PERSHING masterpiece yesterday and I thought that I would share my results.When I first got this watch I was really excited, a STERLING SILVER Fahys Trench Watch Case with the INTEGRATED SNAP ON SHRAPNEL GUARD ! ! ! ! !Nice to get your hands on one of these that is silverode or solid nickel but this one is STERLING SILVER with the original STERLING factory crown ! ! ! !This honey was in very poor condition and obviously has significant water damage as you can see from the completely rusted out movement.I did not bother trying to save the 1918, 7 jewel movement, some things just can't be brought back to splendor!So, I installed a 1918 Elgin size 3/0s movement with 15 jewels that was available that year. (UPGRADE ! ! !)The upgraded 15 jewel movement is in near MINT condition ! ! ! ! !The new movement has been completely overhauled and has a brand new mainspring, it's simply gorgeous!The sterling silver was in very poor condition as well, it had a ton o

A day without a Watch
Last Friday I did not wear a watchactually I was prohibited. In its' place I wore a hospital ID tag. I do not get why one has to remove their watch when undergoing back surgery. It is not like it will get in the way. A chorograph would have been cool to wearI could have timed the operation. Oh well, those hospitals and their funny rules! (I do know why they prohibit watches). As soon as I returned home on Sat. the first thing I put on was my watchthen my ring. Hey, somethings are important. I did notice my neurosurgeon wore a monster size watch when he showed up to say hello and mark my back. I wanted to ask him what watch he was wearing but I suspect I would have forgotten as I received my pre-op meds just afterwards (they want to make sure you are coherent to answer questions like who I am and what procedure I will undergo before they give you drugs). I will make it a point to ask him when I next see him.

Overtime I have learned NOT to use the term ¡°grail¡± for every nice watch purchase. However, in this situation there is no other term that is more appropriate than GRAIL! I¡¯ve grown to have an appreciation for Audemars Piguet, but never seriously considered owning one as it was way out of reach. On Thursday all the stars aligned and I turned two ¡°great¡± watches into one ¡°FANTASTIC¡± one! I could barely sleep on Friday in expectation for my package to arrive on Saturday. Check out my new AP Royal Oak 15400! It cost me the crown jewel in my collection¡­my Rolex BLNR but it was well worth it. I LOVE THIS WATCH! In my family, every year the same angel goes at the top of the tree but the ornaments below the angel can and often change. My new AP RO will play the same role. I can¡¯t think of anything else I¡¯d want at the Top of my ¡°Watch Tree¡± but what¡¯s below it could and will change quite a bit. The watch fits great, looks great, and is well balanced on the wrist.
