Richard Mille RM-010 wrist watches news:
Sponsored PostTo read the reports from SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horologerie) or the latest auction headlines, you would think that watch collecting is the preserve of the super-rich. Prices with four, five or even six zeros seem to be the norm and those non-millionaires amongst us can feel reduced to observer status only.So what can you buy if your pockets are not so deep? The good news is that there is a lot of fun to be had in the shallow end. There are "serious" watches of significance that can be bought for less than the price of a quartz fashion piece. The restless drive for innovation pursued by watch companies has left a trail of "firsts" and these are a good place to start for the cost-conscious collector. An example of the first ever automatic wristwatch, the Harwood from the late 1920s can be bought for less than ¡ê300.The technological turbulence of the 1950s and 60s provides fertile ground for "firsts." If you can bear to wear anything powered by a battery, try a
I finally bought my absolute favorite watch a week ago and it has been on my wrist 24/7 since then...I'm starting this thread to post pics I take of itHere are 2 for today
A brand which had a hard time the last yearsBut in 2010 I'm expecting a new startThey have great movements and a great history BUT their sportswatches (Defy) made a big mess the last yearsOn the other hand, their other watches like Chronomaster, Grande Class, Elite, are wonderfullThis is my second Zenith and I LOVE itand ofcourse 2 wristshots ;-)
Hi all! First time poster here. I have long been into watches, and have recently received a special gift for my 25th birthday, my fathers Rolex datejust. I remember seeing this watch throughout my entire life, and to say I'm excited would be an understatement. Anyway, I'd like to know the reference and as much about this watch as possible, and I'll attach three pictures I just took. He purchased the watch in Switzerland while on vacation there, in the early 1980's, he thinks it might have been 1982 but he's not entirely sure. I know it's 36mm with a jubilee bracelet, a smooth bezel, and what seems like a black or maybe even a slight matte black dial. It has just returned from it's second service by Rolex in the over the 30+ years the watch has been alive, and I think it's looking great. New acrylic crystal, polished, certain parts of movement replaced, etc. Anyway, tell me what you think, and I'd really love to hear more about this watch from true experts. Tell me everything and anythi
Hi all I've been jealous of your collection displays for a while. Today for my 2 year anniversary I received a box for mine. Clearly not as impressive as some but I like them. The small Rolex is my wife's, both that and the 30 year old Cyma were given to us by her HK grandfather. Room for one more. My grail is the blue red GMT but as it's made of gold I can't afford it...yet. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
