The NPD Group, a leading market research company, announced that it has acquired LGI Network, which provides retail point-of-sale information on fine watches and branded jewelry. NPD tracks sales of fashion watches and other accessories through its consumer and retail tracking services. Hands-on With the Melbourne Watch Co Avalon
Just a few weeks ago, I reviewed the Melbourne Portsea, which was a really strong new model from the young brand. It was a clever twist on a classic style with plenty of unique details. Well, now Melbourne is back with the launch of their newest watch, the Avalon, via Kickstarter. Their fifth watch release to date, the Avalon is a departure from the brand's previous designs. Rather than a take on a more subdued or dress style, this watch is a large, aggressive pilot in full black DLC. But in true Melbourne style, they took a unique approach that makes it thoroughly their own.The case of the Avalon is unabashedly large at 45 x 53.7mm, but surprisingly flat at 11mm. With the wide 24mm lugs, it looks and feels broad and masculine, and is best worn on larger wrists for it. Omega Deep Black (Blue) Planet Ocean or Rolex GMT Master II BLNR
Guys,I've been looking at the Deep Black Planet Ocean's, particually the Blue version. I also looked at some Tag Heuer's namely the Tag Heuer 02T Tourbillon CAR5A8Y.FC6377, which is quite pricey but in the range of the Deep Black and the Tourbillon factor is very intriguing. I am also thinking about the non-Tourbillon Skeleton Dial Blue Heuer 01 Chronograph or the Black Ceramic version. However I ran across the Rolex GMT Master II BLNR and and very smitten with the design. I had a Sub No Date previously and sold it, because I was afraid to wear it when I first got into the hobby and prefered my Omega's. The BLNR wears drastically different than the Deep Black, but the Deep Black also wears smaller than I thought it would.
