Hi all, I am a new poster to the American forum and only recently addicted to vintage watch collecting. I consider myself a USA-centric snob. My collection is mostly Elgins, Hamiltons and Walthams. I believe though that any movement marked USA should be considered as made in America. I have several Bulovas (10ak, 10bp, 8ae) and Gruens (335). Am I correct that the USA on a movement has a specific meaning? Also are there any other manufacturers that have made movements in America? (I have some Westclox. Westcloxi?) Wittenaur? Benrus? Timex? Thanks, Joel
I'm new to AP so this may of been common knowledge to you guys!I'm going to view a SS diver but also wanted to see the ceramic but have been informed since its boutique only and in the UK we don't have one then the ceramic diver is not available in the UK! Contacted what I thought was the UK AP boutique but later found out is was AP UK LTD and the lady on the phone their wasn't overly helpful and also corrected me straight away when I said I had heard its a discontinued model, saying it was only introduced around a year ago why would it be discontinued!Spoke with AP customers services who also corrected me when I mentioned I had heard its discontinued and they told me it's a current model and still in production! The guy was really helpful but said he would have to contact AP UK to see if they could get one in for me, found that slightly odd AP CS had to ask AP UK about getting the ceramic model in! He came back within the hour and said no unfortunately AP UK cannot get it in and I wou
Noticed this, thought this was funny.Lebron is an AP ambassador, Dwayne Wade sponsored by Hublot.During their press conferences, it was hilarious to watch how pronounced they were with this pose, doing their best to show off their timepieces. The whole time, Lebron was either touching his lips or trying to get ear wax out of his ears with his left hand. For about 30 seconds while Lebron was answering a question, you could see Wade just stare at Lebron's AP.Have any of you guys found yourself either doing this or staring at your watch in public while ignoring everything around you?
