My wife and I would like to thank Piaget and HODINKEE for our trip to Switzerland to visit Piaget, and to see its manufacture in La Cote aux Fees, and its headquarters in Geneva.Here are a few of my thoughts:Proud of being Piaget and taking pride in one's work: When I was listening to Yves Bornard (who's been with the company for 40+ years!) talk about the history of Piaget I could see his glowing pride. When the watchmakers showed us what they are working on, I too could see their pride in being Piaget, and how proud they are with their work. Yves takes out an employee log book from the 1940s. Omega Seamaster GMT 50 Years Question and introduction!
Dear Forum,Most of the time I am in reading mode, but today I would need your input on a specific question.I hope you can help, I am having a discussion with one of my neighborhoods regarding the watch and his special functions, I told him that the GMT Funtion for the hour hand (moving the hour hand whereas the second and minute hand is still running, to keep the time, is only possible with the original omega movement and it is impossible for fake makers to copy this function. Correct me if I am wrong.Thank you very much for your support.On the other hand please welcome my personal Easter gift, the original plan to have as gift for my son for Easter has being canceled based on some supply issues by the German post, that's kismet! Just Received my Hamilton Khaki Navy Watch
Thanks to SPM17's post (m ), I went with the Hamilton Khaki Navy Automatic Watch (H6451533).Just some quick stats:-41mm-water resistant 330 feet-sapphire crystal-rotating bezel-25 jewelsMy first impressions:-it isn't "impressive big" like an Invicta, but once you start looking at the quality of the details, you see it is well constructed.-the day and date are easy to read and the hands glow very bright in the dark.-the smooth second hand is different, at least for me-the clear back of the case allows you to see the inner functions of the watch-the strap is rubber, but isn't stiff or cheap like lesser brands-overall, a very low key, but classy watch.-the sapphire crystal is amazingly clear.Overall, like I mentioned, this isn't an Invicta Reserve Venom, in your face, clock on your wrist big. Instead, it is a well made, elegant, subtle, Swiss made watch with an American heritage. In some respects, it looks like something that would have been made in the 50's or early 60'ssomething I dar

Favorite watch under 500 large
Hey guys, New to the forum here. I've been in the market for a new watch, call it a bug maybe but I own a Pulsar chrono that was given to me and I've been very pleased with it. I am fairly rough with my watches, and hoping to be a bit more gentler with my new purchase. Wanted to get some ideas of what your favorite watch would be under $500? I really like Breitling's, but don't care to spend more than 500 on a watch. I've been watching a used Hamilton Khaki Regatta, I like the watch layout. I feel like I can wear a larger watch, I have thin bone structure, smaller wrists but I'm far from skinny and have pretty large arms for my bone structure (5'9" 203lbs). My buddy has a Eco-Drive, but I think I want to own a Swiss movement watch. Any suggestions?
