Swatch SFK396G wrist watches news:
Hello,I hope someone here can help me out. I am in the U.K and have just bought my first Hamilton from an authorised U.K retailer. It is the Ventura model number : H24411732. I have a few questions about my watch and Venturas in general. My watch does not have any crystals on the face or lugs, however on the Hamilton site when i searched for my model (H24411732) it shows the Ventura with crystals despite their catalogue showing the watch (H24411732) without them. Could anyone explain why this might be?Also on my back plate I expected to find the model number engraved but instead it has H244110. Is this usual?I apologise for the questions but I hope someone could shed some light on this. Also is there a thread which details the different models/year of make of each Ventura Hamilton have produced?Thank youDave
Hi,I'm looking for someone that can maybe give me an experienced guess as to a minute hand movement problem I'm having with a 2824.2 movement....I have a question, that addresses a particular concern, but it down the page a ways.I'm trying to first describe the problem, and then ask a question...I just received the watch in the mail from ebay, and haven't buckled it on my wrist yet.. It's been lying here beside my comp, and I was letting it do it's first 24 hr run for accuracy.I got the watch at about 11:30am,so it's now been here running for about 12 hrs....the movement is running just fine,it hasn't stopped at all...In fact in 15 hrs,by the second hand it hasn't lost even one second.. At 12:50 am,the min hand stopped moving..the watch still runningI noticed it at 15 after 1....so for 25 min the min hand didn't move.. I though at first it may have ran out of power.. I wound it about 10 turns.....Reset the time, and then when the min hand got back around to right between 10 and 11,It stopped
Nearly all dive watches have a rotating bezel (in fact most would not call a watch without a rotating bezel a diver at all), and the purpose of the bezel is to time things, specifically dive times, right?Bear with me, I'm getting to it...A lot of bezels have a red (or contrasting colour) indication from the zero mark to the 15 mark - see pic below:My question, and apologies if this is really stooopid, but why is the red 'zone' from 0 to 15, instead of 45 to 0???I would have thought that you would want a warning area on the bezel as you were approaching the one hour mark, ie, when the air in your tank is running low.Or is the red zone meant as a warning that you are OVER your safe limit of one hour?I'm confused because putting the red zone from 0 to 15 doesn't allow you to use it to countdown to anything - if you set the bezel to zero at whatever time you start timing something, it is in the red zone for the first 15 minutes of timing, which doesn't seem to make sense to me. Cany anyone
I have been a Rolex, PAM, Omega, Chopard owner with a collection of 6 different watches, I think now is the right time for me to get the long awaited AP first step is to identify which Off shore model to chase (needs a lot of studying) looking at several photos in the forum I noticed that there are 2 different fonts for the date within the offshore! I personally like 1 of them but need to understand have they changed the font on newer models or it is just kind of random? Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The Dad of one of my best friends passed away earlier this year. He was an avid watch collector and left a few nice pieces behind. Here are some nice shots that my friend allowed to take at the bank for our viewing pleasure. A JLC Perpetual Calendar sneaked in the last picture.Enjoy!!!
