1970's Hamilton Chronograph
Here is a Chronograph I picked up on ebay. I believe this is the 1970's Chronograph with a Valjoux #7734 movement inside. With the sub seconds dial at the 9 o'clock position, 30min counter at the 3 o'clock position, and the date at the 6 o'clock position. 17 jewel manual wind movement labeled Hamilton 644 is looking good.There were numerous black marks on the dial on the periphery at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, and even a lume stain under the H in the Hamilton emblem. I really like this watch and I would like to keep it, but I'm thinking of returning it (because of the various marks on the dial that weren't present in the listing pictures and not mentioned in the item description). The good news is I contacted the seller and the seller will accept a full refund.Then again I did get this at a reasonable price (a little below Shugart's price for this watch mint).Maybe I should just keep it and just have the dial refinished. Greetings one and all!!My name, as you can see, is Steve and I'm from the great state of California (Santa Cruz). I'm a novice watch collector and have a half a dozen or so. (mostly Citizens and a Clive Cussler Doxa)Recently, I inherited at Longines watch, and I was wondering if you could assist me in identifying this watch. On the back of the watch it reads: NAV. with 166 underneath. My understanding is the original owner of this watch, my uncle in law, was a navigator or bombardier for the Royal Dutch Air Force during world war two.Additionally, I would like to know if A: the watch can be cleaned or should it be left alone, and B: for insurance purposes what would the value be of the watch.Any information would be greatly appreciated.Thanks guys!Steve

I know that personal preference obviously should play the biggest part in choosing between rose and yellow gold, but in this thread, I'm asking about the other consequences of this choice beyond how happy one might be with the aesthetics. That is, are there practical considerations regarding discolouration or maintenance? What about desirability and resale value? Are the other factors that result from a choice of one over the other?
