TAG Heuer WAS2112.FC6181 wrist watches news:
The reason this watch is called the Vice Versa should be pretty clear. Thomas Ninchritz took an ETA Unitas 6498 manually wound movement and was able to mount it backwards on the watch. He calls this his Caliber TN 203. At the same time, he was able to move the watch dial so that it is located in an smaller, off-centered positionon what would be the rear of the watch. So what you are left with is a timepiece whose dial is the rear of a heavily modified Unitas 6498 which has been highly decorated, and has a small watch face on the dial.Appeal here is not only in the unique "adjustment" of the base movement, but also the fact that you can see the large balance wheel oscillating all the time on the front of the watch. I like how Thomas Ninchritz used a type of circular strip polish on the mainplate of the movement, as well as the overall decoration. There is also some hand engraving on the balance wheel cock, and a swan neck fine adjustment. Thomas Ninchritz isn't the only one to use this
Hi,I was looking through a trunk sitting the basement with my grandfather's effects. Surprisingly, I found a Longines Admiral automatic. As soon as I moved it around a little, it started right up. I looks to be in great shape, just needs to be cleaned up a bit, except for a crack in the crystal. Here's few pictures. The back of the case says "Longines-waterproof-anti-magnetic, shock-absorber-Swiss Made"Any ballpark ideas of when it was made? I'm guessing the late 60s. Also, any recommendations as to where I could get this watch professionally refurbished? Even if it isn't a noteworthy watch, it looks pretty cool to me, plus there's the sentimental aspect. The case itself looks like it could just be buffed and the dial still looks pristine, but the crystal needs to replaced.Oh, and could the current crystal be replaced with a sapphire crystal? Thanks!
Spent the weekend in NYC and finally got a chance to see a Hamilton Open Heart white/silver face with gold numerals in person. A little larger than I had expected, but nicely finished. ETA 2824-4 movement, sapphire back, no date, brown strap, somewhat unusual look without being too radical or weird, 2-yr warranty.I think I got a good price at $590, shipping included (the watch retails for $840), so I took plunge. Should have it tomorrow afternoon. Will post photos soon.
is usually easy to comprehend. Cheers,Ron
I've been wanting to get a new watch for a while now. Started looking at the Breitling Navitimer after seeing a co-workers. When I stopped into the Breitling dealer, I fell for this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
