Tag Heuer WAR1311.BA0773 wrist watches news:
You don't get warnings before traveling to most cities ¨C at least I don't ¨C but I did get a few precautionary tales before traveling a few hours south of Los Angeles via plane to Mexico City. One of the highest altitude cities in the world, Mexico City is also one of the most populated, with about 20 million people. It is vastly spread out over a wide area, and the colorful buildings add a friendly sheen to what is in reality a mixture of haves and have-nots in what I understand to be a rather dangerous place. This, and a regular selection of "gringo kidnapping" stories up in LA framed the beginning of my first trip to what was once Tenochtitlan, the capital city of the Aztecs, and the current home of the annual luxury watch show SIAR.The Salon Internacional Alta Relojeria is the brainchild of a group of passionate watch people and journalists in Mexico City that by day run the Spanish language watch magazine Tiempo de Relojes. Captain of the SIAR ship is Mr. Carlos Alonso, a worthy sh
James Dowling posted some information on TZ about his meeting today with Rolex:forums.timezone/index.php...=3631155&rid=0Both in this report, and in this post...forums.timezone/index.php...=3631186&rid=0...James makes the comment that the "Dipsy" wouldn't be his first choice to wear with French cuffs. I didn't think anything of it the first time I read it, but the second time, I wondered if his statement was in response to this photo of mine:I've never actually met James, nor have we corresponded. But I was interviewed a couple of weeks ago by a representative of the London Financial Times, who had interviewed James earlier that day. The interviewer asked James during his interview with him if he knew me. According to the interviewing, James enthusiastically responded that he did and had positive things to say about me. While I appreciated that (since rare indeed that anyone on TZ has a kind word about John Holbrook) I thought it was amusing given that James and I haven't
I have a Mark 2 that has a scratch (not deep) on its case, but the case has the sunburst finish, and here in Brazil no one wants to touch that kind of finish. Omega boutique said maybe in swiss but not sure. Anyone had this similar issue? Thanks!
My newly acquired and modded 2254.50 was on the other side of the world when I bought and paid for it on Tuesday, July 29. The seller's listing included Paypal fees and FedEx shipping. The seller promptly shipped the next day, Wednesday, with delivery scheduled on Thursday. The watch arrived in the US (Indianapolis, IN) at 2:31 AM on Thursday and was promptly dispatched to Athens, GA where it arrived an hour later with the words: clearance delay - import.Apparently the watch was then returned to Indianapolis where it sat while FedEx requested additional documentation from the seller. At 9:10 PM on August 5, the shipment was released and at 3:36 AM, August 6, departed for Athens, GA again. Later that morning (11:47) the watch was finally in my hands. The experience reminded me why I had always used EMS for international shipments. FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc., generate additional fees acting as customs brokers which explains the delay in delivering my 2254.50. Fortunately I was in no hurry and
The rain finally cleared enough for me to go for a stroll, so I walked through an adjacent development site. There's no day, time, or place a Datejust isn't appropriate!
