Help Needed: A watch for boyfriend who has everything!
Hello,I recently learned that in my boyfriend's culture (Korean), it is expected that the woman buy the man a watch after getting engaged. I think we are heading down that path in the coming year, so I need to start researching and saving up. Frankly, I'd rather pay for a kickass honeymoon...but I don't want insult his family by upsetting tradition.Here's the rub: He is already a watch collector and has a collection of watches WAY more expensive than I can afford. I don't know exact models, but I know he has an A.P. Royal Oak, a Rolex or two, and several Pateks. So, I need some ideas of something that is nice, unique, but not going to make me bankrupt myself! General budget is ~$5000. He's also a design/quality snob, so something with parts made in China is not going to impress. I mentioned something about Shinola thinking it's unique and American-made and he scoffed, so that's out.I would welcome any suggestions that you have!

New Member, Old Benrus
Hey guys! Just found this forum and decided to make a first post. I've been collecting watches for about year and a half now. Inherited some watches from my father including a 1960 Bulova manual wind. Now, i'm kind of hooked!Anyhow, figured i'd post my first Benrus. Scored it on ebay for $20. Pictures make the dial look really terrible. . .it's not. . .the crystal is really scratched. I plan on cleaning it up and replacing the band. Anyone know anything about this particular watch?-James

HUBLOT - is it a good brand?
i went to a rolex gtg today and we stopped by a place that also carried Hublot, and i fell in love. a quick googling garnered me the "FACTS" (aka press-released sales-pitches) but does anyone wear hublot? anyone USED to but refuses to anymore? anyone love em? hate em? i want real WISdom. not what i learned from the ads. :) (p.s. here's a pic of the one that got me. she got a name?)
