Maurice Lacroix LC1012 wrist watches news:
Does anyone know were I can get the Corduba Black Rubber Link Strap? I want to change my white bracellet for black.thanks everyone!
I have an Orbita Monaco multi-head winder and contemplating my next winder purchase. While I love the aesthetic design of the Orbita Avanti pieces, I was a little put off by the new "Rotorwind" mechanism.Seems that with the new system you:1) cannot select a single direction wind (half of my watches are 800TPD either CCW or CW only). Obviously the swinging motion of the Rotorwind mimics wrist winding but is this really best for a single direction wind watch? Wouldn't there be a clutch that suffers from more wear?2) lose precision in setting the TPD. While I've seen the calculation which equates the "standard" setting with 700 TPD, it would seem that if the rotor floated freely once it starts swinging this is not a very precise program. Plus you only get 2 settings vs. 5 on the old programmable modules (ie 700 and 950 vs. 500, 650, 800, 950 and 1300).To me it feels like you're giving up precise control of the wind and the notion of these being "self regulating" is really just marketing h
Here's a story with a happy ending:I went around the corner to check out some Seiko pieces, but that turned out to be mostly a bust. Here's the best of what I saw -The 2 tone has a display back, the SS didn't. Everything else was quartz. No Pepsi bezel automatic divers, no Grand or King Seiko models, no bullheads, just run of the mill stuff. So off I go, taking a walk around after lunch with my girlfriend and her friends (it looks like I have a harem and I learn some interesting tidbits about the opposite sex's thought process). She does her retail therapy, I do my horological jaunt. Walking down South street is a laugh! I saw a shop run by a Russian gentleman selling a Patek Philippe perpetual calendar for $115 and a Vacheron Constantin tourbillon for $150. He was actually proud of the fact he sold the best fakes in town! After my brief chuckle I continue and am mostly disappointed until I stop at an antiques shop right under my nose one stinkin block from our place. I saw a
This has been a strange month for me because I do not generally shift watches as quick as this but I think I came out on top this month. I will miss my Orange Mako but I will add another orange/black combo in the future. With the funds received from the outgoings I was able to fund the incoming without having to add any extra money, seems like a good deal to me but what do you think did I do well in July?OutgoingsIncomings
I want to get this Elgin 761 dial spiffed up.Any idea or ballpark figure on their charges (they don't seem to have a price list that I see on their site)?
