TAG Heuer CAG 2111 wrist watches news:
This week, Bring A Loupe focuses on a perennial favorite: vintage Omegas, from an intriguing Railmaster to an exotic Speedmaster. We will also examine one of the very first Rolex Submariners with crown guards, a reference 5513 with a flawless gilt dial. And to round things out, we have a couple of chronographs from Breitling and Universal Geneve, each with their own interesting quirks. This is your Bring A Loupe for January 8, 2016. An Early Rolex Submariner Reference 5513, A Stunning Vintage Sub With Glossy Gilt Dial 1 OF 12 This dial instantly tells you one thing: you are not looking at your average Submariner. This vintage Sub exhibits exactly what we love: a deep glossy dial and a fat case. The dial is marvelous, with a lacquer finish characteristic of the early 5513s. Until 1966, the reference 5513 boasted a glossy dial with gilt lettering ("gilt" referring to the golden color). Only after 1966 would the Submariners have the matte dials we described
Hello everyone, i've just joined the forum after browsing for quite some timeI was about to purchase a white dial/Gold AT until i became aware of the new, or soon to be released AT model. The slightly more aggressive/sporty looks of the new versions look stunning to my eye and makes me hold off my purchase until i can see one in the flesh. However, given the new calibre co-axial movement i assume that these watches will be significantly more expensive than the current ATs which leads me to ask whether anyone has the head's up on prices of the new versionsthe steel bodies in particular.I read an estimate of ?2400 or so (somewhere), which is surprising given that current models are around ?1600. A 50% increase seems staggering and clearly would be placing the AT line at quite a different level from the models being replaced.Do any of you guys know the price of the new AT? If not, would you really anticipate a 50% increase over the current line?
My best guess is that this was probably a showroom model and has been sitting in a drawer for the last 60 odd years. It definitely hasn't been much, if at all. It came with the original box (no directions though), with the Harland name and price tags. The box is one of the nicer ones I've seen Elgin produce. The watch itself is beautiful and it still has the original suede (I have a new suede band on the way so as to preserve this one) Elgin band and buckle and the price/stock sticker was still on the back (I was able to remove it whole so I can actually wear this watch). It uses a 681, adjusted, 19 jewel movement. It has run strong all day. The case is 10K gold filled. About the only thing I had to do was lightly buff the tarnished case and the tarnished numerals on the dial. Oh, and the auction listed this as not working. I gently, and I mean gently, pushed on the gears and it roared to life. That might have been why no one bidded on it ! ;) And, yes, I noticed the sale sticker
Hello, what I am looking for a classic traditional looking watches, but made in Switzerland for around CHF 75 ?50.Therefore, I want to plan for birthday gifts both male and female. If you can give me details of the watch makers who are based in Switzerland, who are within my price range (Not Swatch). As some companies / Websites claim to have, Swiss made watches but lie.I look forward to hearing from youYoursFarhan
I have a number of Breitlings in my collection, from a Colt GMT to the Bentley 6.75, Super Avenger Black Steel, Transocean unitimer in SS and RG, but was never interested in the classic Navitimer. About a month ago I was reading an article on-line, which listed the Navitimer as one of the classic, all time watches. So today I stopped by my AD's to check out the Navitimer and see what I have been missing. I fell in love with this one, Navitimer 01, 46mm, blue dial on a blue croc strap..... just had to bring her home.003 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]008 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]011 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]012 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]024 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]025 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]026 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]044 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]
