Journe. ?Coincidentally, he's just celebrated 30 years with the company, so our interview could not have occurred at a better time.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Francois-Paul Journe (FPJ): I consider myself as a mechanical engineer and watch constructor above all - of course, I am a watchmaker as well. It is more than a passion, it is my life! I believe I am one of the only watchmakers to continue producing watches in the same manner and with the same respect as it used to be done when horology was a science.There are fundamental values in high horology that pertain from the last 250 years that needs to be respected. Well I went to the mall today and was in Macy's. Seems the Fine jewelry concessionair is withdrawing and Macy's will be handling everything after June 30. All the watches are on Clearence. Oris, RW, Tissot, Swiss Army, Movado, Citizen, Seiko all 40% +10% off. I was hard pressed to walk away. I really liked the Titan Chrono I saw with discounts about $1150. Even though it's so similar to my Ti Diver it's one "Badass watch". There was also many very nice RW 45mm Stainless automatics. Large Eco Drives pilot styles for $250.The sales person said they could go down more because they are trying to clear out inventory. It certainly will be worth watching for me. I really like the ORIS Chrono, F-1, TT3 and the Raymond Weil Freelancer at about $300 less than Internet retail. Overall, I had some fun even though I walked away without anything.I'll be "watching" to see if there are further reductions because it sure was tempting. Just back from my AD who had my Evo to give it some TLC. . . . Happy with the results!

And yet another first time Omega owner
I've been collecting Rolex for quite a few years now, both new and vintage, then also bought new Tudor but for some reason Omega never really sang to me.I started to look for a new Rolex but with the near impossibility of buying a SS Sports watch from a UK AD, I was looking at an AD's near empty Rolex window, when I saw the Omega display next to it. As soon as I saw the Planet Ocean I was blown away.As has been commented on by other first time owners, the box is better than Rolex and the quality and finish of the watch is incredible. It is great to have a watch with a completely different set of styling features, including thick polished bevels on the sides, a ceramic dial, lume in blue and green, a movement that can be seen through the case back and with METAS certification which is +0.5 secs per day.It's now got me looking at older models and a Speedy Reduced may well be next in a few months.It's great to post as a proud owner in The Omega section of the forum

What do you do when you go overseas?
I¡¯m flying overseas and plan to take three of my rolexes. Do I need to take receipts or proof of purchase from the US with me so that when I¡¯m reentering back in the US they don¡¯t ask to collect customs?Thanks
