Tissot T0674171101700 wrist watches news:
For 2015, Officine Panerai goes back again to its roots as a historic supplier of instruments for the Italian navy and releases a quartet of new iterations on popular models as well as one reissue from the heritage collection. Coverage of the first model, the most complicated one: Radiomir 1940 with equation of time, deserved separate coverage and can be found in a separate post. The remaining model iterations constitute three Panerai Luminor Submersible watches, one Panerai Radiomir, and one special novel reissue. First, three new models of the Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 with flyback chronograph function. These maintain the large 47mm case size that somehow still wears small due to short lugs. Being built in titanium reduces the weight and so does using a flexible rubber caoutchouc strap. Both models have rotating bezels but one, like the PAM389, uses a scratch resistant ceramic insert.Instead of using the typical subdials for minute counters, Panerai opted to use two central ha
I have had a bit of a fixation on Kobold Watches since I first learned about them several years ago. They represent what most men want in a watch. Good looks, rugged construction, and a classic style which is anything but boring. Even though the Kobold watch company is new (in watch years), they have been able to achieve so much, and are truly a modern watch company. Especially considering they are one of the only watch companies that allow you to purchase direct from the factory.Kobold Watch is an American watch company. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Kobold watches use Swiss parts with American insight. Kobold is led by the younger Michael Kobold, who has become quite the watch celebrity. Showcasing his favorite pieces on the wrists of many celebrities. The truth is, he didn't have to work very hard at it, because these are remarkable watches. As such, James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) and Kiefer Sutherland (Jame Bauer on "24" wore a PVD Kobold Phantom Tactical) have proudly displayed th
Hi all,Christmas time is near, and I was going to pull the trigger on a SS Daytona 116520, but searching for some pics and so, I found that Rolex is planning on doing the SS Daytona with ceramic bezelAny news about?Certainly I will wait IF it's true When I purchased my YM I went through the same, bought it, and two months later, Rolex changed the clasp on the YM and the new version is exactly what I would wanted
You all know my views on 'restoration'!I am fully 'right wing'. And always, always try to leave a timepiece visually as is, or how it left the factory with any natural deterioration. That is part of the 'provenance' of a timepiece or indeed any antique.Restoration should be their to save a piece never to modify or improve it to what it had been.A 'curator' from the Latin curare meaning to "take care", and that job is to manage or oversee a collection or items. That is how I see myself, someone there to 'take care' of timepieces. But to-day, I took a vintage timepiece, a lovely circa 1930 HEUER (Before Tag-HEUER) Chronograph and restored no, transformed it's original but sadly distressed case into lovely original condition re-gold plated. Why? Because the poor condition of the case with green mildew was detracting from a rare piece, with a magnificent silvered dial and fly-back chronograph functions. While showing my collection to a Horologist - this piece was literally 'Passed By'Sad
Just came across this Breitling, in the back of the safe, which I haven't seen in years! I recall that I purchased it new (on a whim) around 1994/1995, while in Canada.Fast forward to today, when again, I came across it in the safe. My wife spotted it, and now wants to wear it, so I wound it up, set it, and on her wrist it sits! Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. What's the story with the crown looking to be steel, while the pushers look to be gold?Where would I look for a Breitling replacement leather strap, and what should I look to pay? Finally, what would have been the time appropriate bracelet for this watch, and again, where would I look to purchase one, and what would I expect to pay. Many thanks,Nathan(pics are with the watch on my wrist, the back of the watch showing the Model #, and now (forever??) on my wife's)
