Tissot T0874075603700 wrist watches news:
The newest limited edition watch from New Zealand based Magrette is this Regattare Bronze (technically called the Ragattare Vintage Bronze), and there is a lot to love here. The Regattare collection is one of Magrette's mainstay models that have seen numerous versions and revisions over the years. Now in bronze, collectors and style aficionado's get an interesting case material option at+ a solid price.Bronze is not typically used for watch cases but 2010 and 2011 saw a range of bronze watches being released for the collector's market. It would be a tough material to sell to the mainstream given the metal's tendency to oxidize - which is exactly why some collector's like the material though. Bronze develops a patina over time (not that much time) that appears like discoloration on the metal. This is valued to some collectors as their watch will not only look unique (no two age the same) but also because the aging will help the timepiece look like a vintage item. For the 44mm wide Regatt
If I wasn't a prior fan of the Watchmen graphic novel, I might have thought that this was the perfect "watch" superhero movie. Come on "watch men." It would have been too good to be true with heroes like "The Human Main Spring," "Clockimedes," and the "Chronographer."? Villains might be the "Tickler," "Quartz Madness," and the "Asian Counterfeiter" (I did just humor myself there).? They call Watchmen the most "celebrated graphic novel" of all time. That may be true in some circles, but I prefer to think of Watchmen as graphic novel that celebrates the comic genre. Writer Alan Moore and artist David Gibbons said it was "unfilmable -" but it wasn't, and they did, and they did it well. If you haven't seen WatchmenThis article isn't just me recommending a movie with "watch" in the name, but I wanted to point out that Watchmen is another movie you can throw in the pile of films with nods to watch appreciation. There is of course the doomsday clock, that slowly moves closer to midnight. Ther
another iconic watch from IWC in my possesion...supplied to the Ministry of Defence (GB) just before the close of WW2. The watch was 1 of 12 suppliers; In the early 1940s the British Ministry of Defence (MoD) put out a specification set for military watches that it wanted to supply its troops with. The companies that produced a watch that met these specifications and that the MoD accepted were: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, JLC, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex.THE reference page for these watches are here;W.W.W. - Wrist Watch WaterproofThe complete set of 12 were called "The dirty dozen" as a term of endearmentHere¡äs my "Dirty Dozen" !
List,I have been looking for my first luxury watch for my 50th b-day/25th anniversary. I am drawn towards the 2503.33 (white with blue markers), but have never seen or been able to try one on to be sure that is is the one.Recently, however, I was traveling in another city and walked into a Rolex dealer on a whim. The saleslady and I struck up a conversation and she brought out new old stock Rolex 116234 datejust with the blue dial and stick markers. It had the most beautiful blue dial I have ever seen. I put it on and found I almost could not take my eyes off it. The shop has had it for some time and wants to sell, so she was willing to give me 25% off. This makes the price for a brand new DJ at around $5k.I know that Omega made the 2500 AT in a blue dial/silver hands version, but I have only seen pictures of it. Likewise it has not been made in awhile, so any one of these I find is going to be used and (may) need service.Question: Does anyone have experience with the 2503.80 bl
Afternoon All,Merry Xmas!!! I'm looking at buying a 5711 White Dial (to complement my growing collection) but cannot find one to try on to finalise my decision... the AD's in Houston do not have one in stock. Is there anyone in the Houston/Galveston Area that you could recommend to view and buy through? Is there anyone in the area that has one that I could maybe meet up with for coffee on a Sunday? Happy to buy! Cheers guys,Cass
