Tissot T17151632 wrist watches news:
Hello everyone. I'm a regular on TRF normally, hope they get well soon. I've signed up here to show you all newest acquisition! Just picked this baby up today. Keeps good time so far. The only problem is the crown. Unscrewed it pops out to the manual wind position, then if I pull it out one click it still seems to wind instead of changing the date...Am I right in thinking this is what it should do? At the last position it changes the minute hand. Other than that it seems fine. Is this a major problem? Has anyone heard of this before? I bought it for my dad because he's just stopped smoking, with the threat of him having to give it to me if he starts again! He's really happy with it. Cheers everyone!
I was in a watch repair shop today looking at the vintage display case and noticed a watch with no name. The owner told me it was Swiss Made in the 1930s when watches were often sold with no brand name on the dial."What's important is what's inside"...I was assured. Is this correct? Why would quality Swiss manufacturers, proud of their brand, turn out an anonymous product???
Hello all,After 'lurking' for some time on the forum I feel its time to dip my toe in the water....so to say! I'm not sure of the pro's and con's polishing a vintage reference (during service at PP, I mean). Why do some people prefer to look for 'unpolished' versus polished? Is it an aesthetic argument, authenticity argument, personal preference or does it (in reality) reduce the value of the piece? I'd appreciate thoughts from the communityThanks!

I got the Rolex bug and bought a Milgauss but now I'm having third thoughts. For the price of the Milgauss I can get a couple of nice Omegas to supplement my Seamaster and Speedmaster. I love my new Milgauss gv, but what's really getting me hung up is the cost. Visibility of the green dial is another issue, but it's beautiful in good light.Did you ever have buyers regret and get over it? Do some of you own Rolex and omega too?
