First, hello. I just joined. I've had a budget watch collection for a while but have recently started getting into vintage watches and learning about watches in general. I was asked to refurbish a bunch of watches for someone who sells them at a Lions Club thrift store. Included in the pile of every day Japan movement low end watches were a bunch of vintage watches, some of them being Swiss and automatics. I'm keeping those as payment for helping with the other watches. One of those watches is a LaMarque branded chrono with a 149 movement. The dial and movement are both in outstanding condition however I have one problem. The watch runs and two of the three chrono functions work however the start/stop button does not start the timer. Based on what I've read, the top button is the start/stop button and the bottom button is the reset button. I can start the timer by using a small screwdriver to move the lever. Once it has been started I can then use the top button to stop the timer and th
The postman dropped this one off today. It's the Sinn UX EZM 2B Hydro which features a quartz chronometer movement. The case is filled with silicone oil to add to the depth rating, and the crystal has double AR. I love the Sinn U series bracelets! They have 1.5mm hex head screws that making sizing a breeze!
I'm a total newb, but thought that it'll be fun to read what you think are their respective trademarks. I'll start w/ my newbie impressions:RM: hard, cold, raw, mechanical, powerful watches. A bit over-the-top in terms of showing way too much metal for my tastes (not that I could afford one lol).JLC: a bit classical but modern enough w/ functional aspects on some watches.Rolex: metal band, metal case, date...it's bling but bland at the same time imho. AP: case seems stuck in 'Octagon' mode, seems like a beefed-up Rolex.Breguet: too classical for my tastes. Very subtle.IWC: clean, crisp designs (don't like the name though).FM: is that number pattern all they do? VC: not too classical and heading towards getting overly busy like RM.UN: can't get over the thought that I could see Popeye come out of the boutique anytime.:D
Dear friends, may I know which is much worth keeping between the 000 & 112?
