Last week HODINKEE and Xavier Nolot (CEO of Audemars Piguet North America) hosted a private dinner for members of the company's board of directors, top Audemars Piguet clients, and HODINKEE readers to celebrate the launch of the new Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar 26574, which we announced here. Photographer and filmmaker Michael Benson created an astronomical-themed environment for the guests, using black and white imagery to create composite landscapes of the universe. My dad collected watches and passed away in 2010. I inherited the 4 Seiko divers and the two Citizen eco drives on the left, the other eco drive on the right was a gift from him. I purchased the vintage Seiko, the Citizen Auto Dater, and the Orient myself. I know there's an entire fan base devoted to Seiko divers and I feel pretty privileged to own such nice ones. This is about half of my total watch collection. I really enjoy these and they tend to get the most wrist time. If anybody knows the model numbers of the yellow and white faced Seikos, and/or the silver faced Citizen and the other Citizen on the bottom left please tell me. I'm trying to catalog all that info.

Hey All,I've been wanting to add a precious metal dress watch for while, but my eye has been firmly set on my next stainless sports watch acquisition. My friend and I have been talking dress watches and took a trip to NYC to do some browsing. After having the Patek 5196 on, I'm obsessed. I have a Rolex Sub and I've always been a one watch guy, but I really want a piece of Haute Horlogerie. Before being derailed by the 5196 my plan was to get the RO 15202 and it be my only watch. It's obviously not as robust as the Sub, so I've been having doubts. With the price difference between what the 5196 is available for and the 15202, I would be able to justify the stretch and keep the Sub and get the 5196. I feel like I'd have a pretty well rounded two watch collection. Does that make any sense to anyone?? haha Am I nuts to be thinking to forgo the Jumbo? I looked at the 5196J (yellow gold) and the 'R' (pink gold). I only tried on the 'J' because the strap was already flexed and I felt bad bend

In less than an hour...
I am going to get the mesh bracelet on this fabulous watch . I called the local AD the other day who said the watches and bracelets / straps are shipped separately and they had one with the bracelet. Whether that is correct information, I don't know. However, she said they would take the bracelet off the watch they have, sell it to me, and put it on my watch. I'm good with that For the sake of posterity, here is what mine looks like now!Clean as a whistle and no scratches! The AD said they can swap the bracelet for the strap. I don't want any scratches when they are done!

The chrono fever
I've decided to keep my 5712R instead of trading it for 5980/1A, could've been a worse trade ever lol. however the chrono lust is still there, was thinking maybe adding it to pair up with the 5712R, (steel/gold) or pick a non-nautilus Patek to keep the variety going? Potential aim would be the 5146R, the 5960P in blue dial is the ultimate Patek I wanted to have, but I guess I'm going to save it for a special occasion. Should I stick to the steel chrono or go for something I don't have in my existing collection?
