Tudor 20310-WOASORS wrist watches news:
The new Roger Dubuis Hommage Minute Repeater Tourbillon Automatic, unveiled at the Watches and Wonders Fair in Hong Kong, features a trio of technical attributes: a minute repeater with new gongs, a flying tourbillion with a new cage, and twin micro-rotors in hand-guilloch¨¦ rose gold. Let¡¯s take a closer look.Minute repeaters originated long before either electric lighting, or luminous markings on dials and hands, were invented. By sounding distinct notes for the hours, quarter hours and minutes, they allowed the owner to ¡°hear¡± the time in the absence of light. Today, this functionality is no longer required, but collectors appreciate fine minute repeater watches as paragons of the watchmaking art.The slide at 9 o¡¯clock activates the minute repeater. The Roger Dubuis Hommage Minute Repeater Tourbillon Automatic showcases gongs designed to improve the quality of the chime thanks to a combination of a new shape ¨C square rather than the traditional round, and new materials. Switzerland¡¯s Competition Commission (COMCO) has ruled that it would be ¡°premature¡± to allow the Swatch Group to reduce supplies of assortments (i.e. the regulating organ of a mechanical movement: escape wheel, pallet lever, balance wheel and balance spring) that it sells to Swiss watch brands outside the group. While favoring a continued reduction in supplies of mechanical watch movements, COMCO halted further cuts in assortments supplies. It rejected a proposed plan for a gradual reduction of both movements and assortments through 2021 and 2025 respectively. The surprise ruling is the latest development in a drama that has gripped the Swiss watch industry for two years. At issue is whether the Swatch Group, the world¡¯s largest watch company and the dominant supplier of mechanical movements and parts to Swiss watch brands, can legally reduce those supplies. In June 2011 the Swatch Group declared its intention to cut supplies and asked COMCO to investigate the matter. At Swatch¡¯s reque

After finding out that the humble $200 watch and the mighty $10,000 watch will both have the same movement if it is a automatic.........The question inevitabley follows......then aside from lots of diamonds on a few of the pricey ones .....What is it about the expensive watches that makes them so expensive ? ......I was under the impression that companies like Hamilton, Bulova, and Illinois when they were making their own movements back in the early to mid 20th century were fully equal to any of the Swiss companies......and while most of their models were not cheap, I still remember seeing the ads in old National Geographic, from the 20s and 30s, of both Elgin and Hamilton.....at the bottom of the ad it says.....Mens watches from $35 to $5,000 and that was a whole lotta money in those days ! .......Now I uderstand that the watch business and the manufactering of them has changed dramatically, but I still want to know ....why are those watches so expensive.....?????
I¡¯m relatively new to the Speedmaster Professional and would like to see what strap ideas you guys have come up with. I currently have an Omega OEM black leather strap with deployant. Also where is the best place to buy straps online? I will be in Miami in the very near future so that is an option also!
