Hi All, I am looking for a spare deployant buckle for my wife's PAM049 and just want to double check if it's 40mm or not. I think it is but better safe than sorry. I found one on Panatime for $34.99, I think that's a pretty good deal unless it's totally crappy. Thanks all.

Wearing a Watch Through Airport Security
I travel a lot for business, and I have never been comfortable taking off an expensive watch and being separated from it while it goes through an x-ray machine in a tray as I walk through the security checkpoint. It's hard enough keeping an eye on my computer briefcase, let alone a small object that could quickly be placed in someone's pocket and never seen again.I'm not sure where I saw this, but a while back I read that someone was told by a security screener that you don't even have to take your watch off when going through the checkpoint because it doesn't set off the alarm.So I decided to do a test. I have been on seven business trips and through several airports, including Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Asheville, North Carolina. I intentionally wore big, chunky stainless steel watches each time, like my Ball Cleveland Express, Oris Big Crown, and Breitling Chrono GT. I also wore a two-tone Datejust to see if gold would have an impact. In each case I kept the watch under my sl

Strap end length preferences
I have a 7" wrist, and usually wear regular size strapsthis way the end of the strap is exactly behind my wrist and doesn't "go up" around it...Now, on some straps, maybe this is too short, and don't look good...What about you folks, do you like the strap to be more of the "width" of your wrist, or no?

I am finally here at Zurich!! OMG this country is really beautiful. And it is so cold and windy. A stark difference from the humid and hot weather in Singapore.I would love to do a live update of my watch adventure, but the hostel PC does not have the facilities for me to upload. I didnt bring my laptop as I was backpacking.Anyone at Basel?Yuyan

My PAM Base ETA 6497 has been losing time on the Power Reserve. Let me explain myself.When I first purchased it I would get around 66 hours on a full wind. By full wind, I mean turning the crown until a point where it no longer winds and without forcing any further.I've been doing this test once again for a few times and would get different results each time. 1st try: 66 hours2nd try: ~63.5 hours3rd try: ~61.7 hoursI cannot find an answer as to why I would be getting back different PR even with a full wind.I know that these are way over the stated 48 hours, but I am just curious as to know why these figures would not be consistent.Thanks
