Ulysse Nardin 326-28 wrist watches news:
Since setting eyes on the new SS GMTII, I knew it would be the first watch I've bought in several yrs. I have been calling AD's all over the country during my frequent business travels.I finally got lucky this past week in upstate NY of all places. I battled a pretty hairy snowstorm...but wild horses couldn't hold me back after a phone call confirmed that a local AD had both the SS and TT GMTIIc in stock. The salesman was even nice enough to provide a healthy discount and I walked out the door with my 9 yr old Omega Seamaster in the Rolex box and a fine new GMT II on my wrist.Ecstatic is an understatement. Surprisingly, it's been running dead on since I took ownership on Tuesday the 26th. Who knows if it'll stay that way but it's nice to see the consistency nonetheless. The clasp upgrade on this newest generation GMT is a welcome addition. The ceramic bezel sure is pleasing to the eye.
Anyone have a favorite watch magazine? I have a few favorites, but have become a big fan of 'Revolution' magazine. It has a great mix of technical, business, culture, lifestyle, and personality stories associated with watches...all tied together with great pics and some humor. Recently, they did a great piece on Rolex - both the history and an inside tour story by the magazine's founder, Wei Koh. I recommend it to anyone who has not checked it out. Another good magazine is 00/24, although it is very hard to find in the US. They used to carry it at B&N but no more. I communicated by email with their subscription department in the Netherlands but was unable to coordinate with the currency exchange and all. Anyone know how to get it here? Thanks.-Ross
A few days ago a colleague in the UK was mugged at knifepoint and his wife's white gold Ventura was stolen. Given the rarity of this piece I suspect there is a very good chance it will surface in the collector market sooner rather than later.I would ask for everyone to please keep an eye out for this watch as it could easily show up anywhere in the world, on the Internet or at a show. The case has the serial number S424541; the movement is a Hamilton 505 and the dial is refinished black. I restored the watch just a few months ago and the condition is superb. If any information about this watch turns up, please email me at rene@rondeau.net so I can pass it along to the authorities.

My father passed away in the 60s, and I have recently acquired his Tudor, minus the 'Oyster' shaped case and the steel bracelet.I'm trying to find out the year etc. Seems like the Rose in the Shield comes from the 40s but not sure.It has the 'rose in the shield' above the Tudor Oyster Automatic, numbers 2,4,6,8,10,12 on a champagne coloured dial with the words 'Shock Resisting' between the 4 and 8 position. It is a hack second hand. I was told by a jeweller that it is gold filled and the gold plating on the crown is almost gone. The serial# is 509xx next line is 95xIt gains about 1 minute overnight on my night stand, so I'd say it's working quite well for an older watch. Here are some pictures. Any info would be great, and hope you enjoy the pics.Denis
