I may be new to watches, but I think mine's broke! Please help!
I recently bought my first watch that costs more than $25, but I think it's broke! I bought an Emporio Armoni AR4647 online and received it Thursday last week. I wore it once out on the town and the auto winde works great, but when I leave it sit in the case on the dresser, it will stop ticking after 4-6 hours, and needs wound. I thought these kind of watches could sit for 24-40 hours without being wound? I will manually wind it until I feel a little tension, then stop because I read that if you over winde it, it could break the spring or something. But I've also heard that the newer watches have a clutch that prevents damage. Maybe I'm not winding it enough? In ignorance, when I first set the watch, I wound it backwards just a hair to align the second an minute hand together. Could this have broken it? Or could it have been broken out of the box? It's a skeleton watch, so I can see the spring, when it stops ticking, it looks very unwound, and after I winde it, the spring still looks l

Which One: Aquatimer Cousteau Divers 2006 vs 2008??
I have an opportunity to purchase either one of these amazing watches!I have always wanted the AT Cousteau Divers especially the 2006 version as it has a piece of the Calypso embedded into the back. I was willing to settle for the 2008 edition as I thought the 2006 was all sold by now.However, I went into the IWC boutique a few days ago and they pulled out a brand new 2006 AT Cousteau Divers. So here is my dilemma:1) I can buy the 2006 version at full retail price. No discount as its the last one and unlikely to see it again.2) I can buy the 2008 version with a 40% off retail price (I know someone at IWC).Which one should I buy? I like the 2006 given the wood insertion however is it worth paying full retail?I am also concerned why the 2006 version hasn't sold yet. Its been 3 years since the that version has launched. Is there something wrong with the watch? I am sure its not second hand as its from the boutique but might there have been something slightly wrong with it and it needed to

Here's what showed up today:37.50mm Doyle Silverhorse Sub 200.Big and cool 6.75mm screw-down crown with gasket on stem tube.The movement is ETA 2622 25j automatic, ball bearing rotor, instant date change.It arrived with a very ill-fitting crystal that had been glued in. I had a crystal here that fits, but it isn't the thick diver's with ring that it should have....I'll have one installed tomorrow, hopefully I can find a nice & tall oldie.I installed the 19mm Tropic-type single-keeper strap. These are great bands, I wear them on several watches and they're just as comfie as the Swiss ones....to the pics!

So bought a 112 to compliment my rolex lvc a fortnight ago, as I've been hankering after a Panerai watch for a little while.Did the inevitable and visited my local Panerai stockist to order an additional strap (assolutamente).Helpfully and suspect cunningly, the very helpful sales assistant let me try on a 422 to see what the strap looks like in the flesh.After a week of deciding and having my wife pinch my 112 as she loves it, I bought the 422 today.I know they said buying a Panerai could be addictive for the straps but this is altogether a different proposition.Both watches are great by the way and can't see the rolex getting much wrist time now - just looks too small now.A true Panerai convert
