I just got this today. It is an Elgin Deluxe, 32mm across, and 10K gold filled. The 647 manual movement has 17 jewels and was adjusted to 4 positions at the factory. The case, dial, and hands are in great shape. The only issue, is that the caseback isn't original. I did a little Googling on the subject and saw that the original casebacks were hard to remove and were often severely scrapped or bent as a result.Here's a picture of it:Other Elgin Deluxe models received this 4 hole, screw in model like this:Mine is from the I.D. case company (which was based in New York and made cases through the sixties) and it closely mimics the caseback above. It has been on the watch at least from 1964, as who ever serviced it inscribed it on the inside of the case. Maybe if I can find an original caseback, I'll install it, but I just don't see it harming the watch to that great of an extent.By the way, here's photo of the same watch I found at an auction house. Hey y'all, I just purchased a Pam 104 liar week and it comes with the alligator band as well as the rubber one. Can I get the alligator one wet? Seems like it's not a good idea but having the waterproof watch with a band that's not is a little concerning.
