First Post(Finally have another Rolex)Sorry for the long post
Let me first say great forum, I have been reading posts here for a few days. I discovered this forum through the Rolex Reference Page and a email to Mr. Holbrook. He suggested that I would enjoy this forum and he was right.Let me give everyone a quick background story first about Rolex and I. My dad first had an Explorer then a Sub while I was growing up. The Rolex fascination came young to me, about 13. By my senior year in high school I could wait not longer, while other kids were getting cars and class rings I was getting my first no-date Sub(wished I would have kept that one). After high school I went off to Army Basic Training(didn't take the Sub with me)When I graduated I had a pocket full of cash so I promplty went down to the AD on Christmas leave and traded my Sub for a Black and Red GMTII( They gave me the whole 2 grand I paid in trade, now the 2 grand thing is why I wished I could have kept it. Changed my mind....
I was split between getting a 5960P and a 5146P for ages. Then after much deliberation (and advice from this forum - thanks) I decided on a 5960P, which I was due to get next month. Then a couple of weeks ago I met an old friend who had a 5980 and I was hooked. After a lot of effort, I managed to jump the queue and get a 5980. I really love it and adore the fact that I can wear it every day instead of a "special occasion only" watch.How many of you have a 5980? Do you love it as much as me?

Decided to Give My SMP a New Look, Nato Strap!
I've been wanting to get the Omega Ridged Rubber Strap for my SMP for the last ten years or so since I got my SMP. But, I just couldn't justify spending that much on it.My SMP has been great to me and has been my primary watch for the past 10 years. It has a lot of memories and sentimental value. But, I've gone through two clasps on it and I wanted to freshen it up a bit. So, I noticed the trend of the Nato and Zulu straps on the forum and decided to give it a shot.Initially I had an eBay special $5 watch tool kit that included a spring bar removal tool, but the tool SUCKED. So, I spent some money and bought the Bergeon one and I had my Omega bracelet off in minutes.Here are a couple pics of the watch:I'm enjoying it.
