Rolex Submariner & Daytona Black & Gold Modified Watches
I am taking credit for these watches. I met with Time & Gems a while ago when seeing their progress with DLC and PVD treatments on Rolex watch modifications, and suggested that they give a two tone "Rolesor" watch this type of treatment. Black and gold is a very nice combo, (especially yellow gold and black), and to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a Rolex mod that did this (though I could be wrong). So what Time & Gems did is black DLC coat the steel portions of these watches, and leave the gold parts of the watch and the dials alone. DLC is a very hard coating and is becoming favored to PVD at many brands. Time & Gems seems to confused the term DLC and PVD - and they seem to use them both. Well, in the last couple of weeks I've had the chance to spend some time with both the steel and gold plated models, and boy can I tell you, they're nice. Now, we've actually talked about the Prototipos many times before, which includes an in-depth review of them, so I'm not going to go through them again. Rather, today I'm just going to share with you a gallery of pictures I took. But rest assure, my thoughts haven't changed since the review though these new models do offer a slightly different twist on the theme.The build and finish quality is the same, they exude 70's style and simply a joy to wear. The biggest difference is the addition of gold plating for 100 of the 500 watches. I was surprised by how much I liked it. 3rd year warranty question
Hi Everyone,I'm getting ready to send my 15400 to Clearwater to get my pressure test for my extra warranty year. I've only had the watch a month and hate to see it go, but figured it's worth it. -I'm sending UPS 2nd day insured and including my warranty book. - I registered the watch online. Am I missing any other steps?What's a typical turnaround time?Also I need a 1.5 link so I was going to include a note to purchase one and have it installed. Thick watches
Practically all the 8500/9300 Co-Ax watches appear to suffer from the common complaint of being too thick for many people. (myself included) Don't they all come with a display caseback, and isn't this a significant contributor to the thickness? I've never had a watch with a display back, and frankly don't care much what the insides look like as long as they work. Perhaps it's more due to the 300 & 600m case rating because I don't think I've ever heard the complaint about an 8500 AT 150. My GMT II-C has a very flat, comfortable case back and wears about like my Speedy. Well Christmas is cancelled !! Had the call, total wrong time and earlier than I wanted but my 50th birthday present has tipped up 10 months early but could I turn it down ?? Not when the other half saw it and declared it gorgeous. I didn¡¯t think that there would be any deliveries before Christmas from Rolex but it¡¯s fresh of the truck today. May I introduce my new SD43 or if you prefer the 50th anniv Sea Dweller. It may look like the town hall clock on the wrist but they are my other half wrists as you guys have now got as close to it as I have.
