The Casetta appears to have specific setting for TPD. 650 bi-directional is what I'll need for the majority of my watches. My questions is that if 650TPD (or anything else) is set and the module rotates every 10 minutes to equal this specific TPD, when the rotation finishes and the Rotorwind does is thing moving back and forth from the gravity of the watch, doesn't this end up equaling more than the specified about of TPD? To this end, if a particular watch is heavier than another, wouldn't the heavier watch probably get even more movement of the rotor equaling even more TPD than a lighter watch? I understand the there is built in over wind protection in a movement and not much likelihood of any damage but I was just curious if the TPD set would be inherently exceeded because of the way the module operates? Thanks! Eric
The Hamilton Count-down Chrono-matic world timer & the Omega Flightmaster were contracted by NASA, in 1967 to be their official pilot's watch. NASA chose the Omega Flightmaster (now very famous) over the Hamilton Count-down. Here's the Hamilton picture (not mine)...
I just saw some pics of these new FC watches. They are a limited edition series to celebrate the Peking to Paris race. Part of their ongoing involvement in cars and motor sports. They are 43mm in size and look fantastic, IMO! I love the Panda dial one, it would look great on a strap with those big holes in them (what are they called, tropical? Or is that the one with lots of small holes?)
