Zenith 032020670.21C wrist watches news:
The sponsoring luxury watch brands for WatchTime’s “Inside Basel.Geneva” series of watch collector events have really strutted their stuff this year. As noted by WatchTime’s IBG event partner, watch collector and aficionado Jeff Kingston, not only did each brand have a broad selection from its collection on display at the opening event in Chicago ¡ª far broader than you’d ever find at a boutique or other retailer ¡ª but key new watch models from SIHH and Baselworld that won¡¯t be in stores for some months. Scroll down to discover some of the highlights, many of which have been spotlighted in? detail on .A. Lange & S?hne: Lange had all three colors of its new Grand Lange 1 Moonphase (platinum, rose gold and yellow gold). Of course, the luxury watch brand from Glash¨¹tte, Germany also had a number of Lange Datograph watches on display, including the three top rarities: a rose-gold Lange Datograph Perpetual (all the other colors have been discontinued); a ros
I just love this watch.
This thread may be more for those of us who actually remember when the "normal size" for a wristwatch was 38mm and under but some of the younger guys may appreciate it also.(BTW the average size was 38mm less than 10 years ago!)I own many loved watches that are well over 38mm and one in particular is one of my grails.(Omega PO at 45.5mm)I actually have nothing at all against watches of the XL variety and in many cases they would look funny if they were smaller because ,these days, they are designed to be BIG.One thing that bothers me is when the manufacturer puts a "normal" movement in a BIG case, esp a chrono movement.I recently saw a new Luminox model like this and it looked great, yet upon closer inspection, the subdials are "lost" in the dial due to the fact that although the case is 46mm the movement-and thus the placement of the subdials-are not asthetically compatible. The subdials are way too close to the center of the dial and there is no symmetry.Same with some automatic movement
Have you ever worn more than one watch at the same time, with a watch on each wrist?A friend of mine got to meet Buzz Aldrin. In this photo, you can tell he's wearing a watch on his left wrist:But in this shot, you can see one on his right wrist (and you can see the left wrist, too), as well:Other than trying to make a fashion statement, what would be the point?
Hell, I'm lucky to afford the poor man's Daytona. Just Arrived: Ref 79170 Tudor Oysterdate Automatic Chrono Time. This watch pushes my buttons in so many positive ways. - Case and Trip loc Crown by Rolex. That's cool cause I love Rolex cases! This one is nicknamed The BIG BLOCK. It's huge.- Screw down crown & pushers. If I fall off the bar stool and land in the pool, no worries.- Two tone subs. I love two tones. If you got 'em, show 'em.- Rotating bezel. I use the bezel as a timing device often. Plus, you don't see many with this type bezel.- Val 7750 movement. My favorite chrono movement. Robust, trusted, and can be easily repaired. I use the chrono function often as well.-Plex crystal. Easily polished and plex has a luster not found in sapphire crystals.- Cyclops. Love the iconic Rolex look, need and use the date.- Oyster bracelet. Has a Tudor clasp and is ostensibly exactly the same as a Rolex oyster bracelet. Many thanks to those who PM'ed info to me.Now for the pics!dP
