Zenith 30 0040 680 wrist watches news:
Hi Guys - Glad to be here. For my first post and by way of an intro, I've posted a review of the Khaki Field Auto in the reviews section. Warning: it's long! As someone famous once said, I couldn't make it any shorter....info/foru...86767#poststopHope this will be of some help for those looking for a superb 'do it all' watch.Great forum, and I look forward to being able to contribute further in the future.
TGIF all! I need your help identifying this Elgin: model? year? and if someone has a photo of the real deal, I'd love to see it. ps...I flipped the photo for viewing ease.
HI-Found this beauty, locally, 14k white gold, again seller did not know what he had. He had this marked as a Hamilton "Belmont" (no electric, ever, by that name was there?), running on a transplanted modern quartz movement....you know the kind, one beat per second. Ycch. Luckily one of my good Electric men can transplant a Cal. 505 movement back in there and also get me back a red tipped sweep hand, as the current one does seem "legit". A "Catch-22"...she runs perfectly now (as she ought to) as she is on a transplated 7j quartz movement (which probably cost all of $8!!), but I won't wear it, as while I will wear an electric watch with pleasure, I will not wear quartz. The Lord Lancaster is still on original (satin?) signed strap, signed buckle too. Is it also white gold? Didn't seem to see any hallmarks.I will report again when I have this watch back, hopefully with a clean running 505 engine inside.Craig

Was at the AD a few days ago and they had a couple grails in they were more than happy to let me try on. I never can get over the weight of these pieces. Not in the budget right now but soon maybe. Surprisingly I really liked the feel of the DD more than I thought I would. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
