What were you doing when you were 14 years old? I was in high school in California, playing lots of soccer and generally getting into trouble. Over in Switzerland, Rexhep Rexhepi was an apprentice at Patek Philippe working on tourbillons. Now he has started his own brand, AkriviA. While AkriviA is young, the brand has already drawn praise. A while back Kari Voutilainen was in NYC for a Q&A event. A question was asked along the lines of, "what young watchmakers are doing interesting things?" Hello this is my first post. I have a vintage hamilton that was my fathers, but cannot identify it. right now it is at the watchmaker being serviced so I cannot post pictures. It is marked 'swiss' and has day/date function.I will post pictures once I get back. I know it is from the 1960's.any help in researching would be great! I also want to try and match the band that it would have had new.

The New Omega Ladymatic vs. Ladies 31mm Rolex Datejust
Hello Everyone,I am new here and this is my first post. Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong section. I am coming to all of you for valuable feedback. Here is my situation. I am about ready to make a large purchase. It is between the all new Omega Ladymatic (stainless steel, domed bezel, mother of pearl face with diamond markers, $8000) and the 31mm Rolex Datejust (stainless steel and white gold, fluted bezel, silver jubilee dial with diamond markers, $8250). Both are equally beautiful to me and almost the same price. I am looking at this watch as an investment piece. It will be my first automatic watch and I am very excited about that. In order to make this purchase, I have had to liquidate some jewelry pieces (ones I have not worn in some 20 years). I just want to feel confident that the pieces I got rid of were not in vain. Wanted to get some opinions from the great minds of this sub-forum. Every beginning of the year, I get the itch to buy a new piece or trade something out. I got my Rolex SD43 last week and I thought it would hold me over, but it obviously didn't since I'm starting this thread.I was thinking about trading in my RG44 for a ROC RG 26331 blue dial. The ROC picture is a random photo from the net. The 44RG photo is my actual watch.I am still awaiting the arrival of my blue dial SS Skydweller sometime in the next two months. Would another blue dial be redundant?What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
