Audemars Piguet 77934 wrist watches news:
038.jpg034.jpgI bought a nice early 1960s Lord Elgin last week. its a United States Steel retirement watch. the movement is a dura-balance 23 jewel. Im planning on getting it seviced probably after Christmas some time, along with a new band. I also bought a 760 parts movement with a awsome looking "pie-pan" style dial. I'm going to try and find a nice complete watch with with this style of dial as my next project.
I've read the positive reviews on the JL Geneve Automatics, but I have yet to see much on their quartz models. In particular, I'm looking at one of their divers. I've seen the pics and reviews of others on here and they seem to be a solid watch. Another member on another forum has a Japanese diver auto that looks very well also. Has any one had experience with this model or one like it? OR any JL Geneve Quartz. From the reviews it seems that they offer good quality watches, and I've not heard of any CS or QC problems. I'm also impressed at the fact that they do have a plant in Geneve, Switzerland where they build their Geneve watches and do the final inspections. In buying this watch, should I expect a good $250 watch (price that can be had) or will I be looking at a better deal than that?
I see some list resale value as an issue for purchase decisions and some don't. Until I started buying/selling/trading watches, I didn't think much about it either. I was never a big fan of Rolex until I owned a few and either made a few $$$, or broke even, which made me a major fan. I have a Rolex yacht master which has increased in value since purchase. So, when I look at watches these days, resale value/trade in value matters to me. Problem is, I have not found any brands that seem to retain their value as Rolex does. I have owned several Omega's for example, which are great watches for the $$$, but they didn't hold resale value when I decided I wanted to sell/trade. When dropping 4k,8k,10k, or more on a watch, I enjoy knowing should I want/need to sell it, it will hold it's value. So, my basic question is, are there brands that hold their value as Rolex does? If there is an ongoing thread on that issue to direct me too I missed, let me know.
I have just purchased my first automatic, a citizen ny0054, and I love it. From my research its a great value for the money. I have been wearing it for about 2 weeks now and have a concern. When I make swift movements with my watch arm I can feel the auto winding movement in there really zinging. When Im using a shovel, flicking the water off my hands after washing, ect. Should I remove my watch for such tasks? Im hoping the movement can handle it.
part number OME-98000297from this is doesn't look like it, i know its for the seamaster, but i think it would look really good on speedy and something better for the summer months than the bracelet i can never get to fit right. i hoping someone has tried it or think it will.takes same deployant as leather straps that fit it.info from ofrieBlack and White Rubber Divers Strap 20 x 18 mm will fit Planet ocean watches.Similar strap as the 98000197 except that the OME-98000297 has form fitted curved end that fit curved of the the case lugs exactly and has black wavy design on back of strap. This strap is used on case number 168.1651, which is also used on model number 2901.50.81. The metal bracelet that fit case number 168.1651 is the 1580/952. This strap as well as 98000197 and 98000199 have also been used for on this case.Takes the Omega 18 mm Deployment Buckle 94521813. End with hole 100 mm long (about 3 13/16 inches), the first hole on other end is 45 mm (1 3/4) and last hole is at 90 mm
