- I owned this watch since I am in the military. The battery life is long-- I still have the original battery since December 2003 (6 years to this date). If you want a reliable easy to read and rugged watch buy this one.

So I was at the NYC Omega Boutique
So I was at the NYC Omega Boutique picking up a piece that had been in for refurb for about 2 months and one of the Omega watch makers noticed the watch I was wearing and asked: "What kind of watch is that?" Well it was my Citizen Signature Grand Complication. He was rather impressed as I showed it too him, and I ended up surrounded by him, the Service Rep, and a second watch maker as I explained the functions! Meanwhile the watch I'd come to pick up was lying, ignored and forgotten, on a tray. Just goes to show, real watch aficionados are not watch snobs.

Newest member to my small 'collection'...
So today has been a good day - I got a lot of work done, got my new glasses, my car got washed and this morning I got another surprise - the newest member to my small collection of watches arrived. I know I know, Parnis watches are frowned upon by certain people (members), but I like this watch. It's a homage to the U-Boat Flightdeck, and yes I know there are a lot of differences between the homage and the one is is based upon - it's not perfect, but the bang-for-buck is hard to beat IMO. This afternoon I went to my friend's jewelry shop to have a Hirsch leather stap fitted (didn't like the one that came with the watch - it looked cheap). The strap I chose, had a polished buckle, so they took it to the back and gave it a brushed finish.Well I set up my small photography studio this evening and took some photos. As always, comments are welcome...

Almost a complete turnover of my collection!
I think I've gotten a feel now for what I really like in a watch, and it has surprised me.What gets the most wrist time now are a Debaufre Triton, a Seiko Premier Kinetic with separate power reserve indicator, a Seiko Kinetic GMT, and a Seiko Kinetic Arctura. I still have my 1995 Tissot quartz, late 80's Seiko SQ100 moon phase, my mood Mickey and my G-Shock. For dressier occasions I have a vintage Benrus being revitalized by a WTF member and I'm working on a vintage Bulova deal with another WTF member. The only thing I feel I'm missing is a chronograph (the G-Shock has a chrono function, I think, but I'd like a nicer, non beater one).The most interesting thing about these ramblings? Everything could change at any time!Any suggestions for an affordable non-diver chrono? How about the Sea Gulls? Affordable vintage? Maybe a quartz Hamilton Jazzmaster or a Seiko Kinetic?I guess it's obvious I've become very fond of Seiko Kinrtic...Any comments welcome and any recommendations appreciated!
