Audemars Piguet 26048OK.ZZ.D010CA.01 wrist watches news:
You probably noticed that the HODINKEE Shop started offering vintage watches last Tuesday. What does this mean for this column? Well, nothing really. Bring A Loupe is still alive and kicking; each week, you can expect to find the coolest watches from all over the world. And this week, BAL will include a dressy Rolex with Tiffany dial, a B series Royal Oak, and a Bovet Mono-Rattrapante. There is also a great selection of chronographs, from a tropical Wakmann to an early Zenith El Primero. This is your Bring A Loupe for March 11, 2016. An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Reference 5402 B Series With Original Papers 1 OF 7 Launching the Royal Oak was definitely a bold move from AP in 1972, as this sporty looking watch in stainless steel cost more than a dressy Patek in gold at the time. Moreover, it relied on a slim and beautifully finished automatic movement in an era where quartz movements were already starting to become more common. The initial controversies faded away, a
Just looking for advice. I'm hot on the trail of my first IWC ~ the Spitfire Double Chrono. It's new in the box for $6K. Assuming, of course, it's authentic is that a good price? Would you go for it?Thanks
Hi,I have an automatic breitling chronomat evolution. The watch has a small seconds hand in a totalizer, and not a big seconds hand. The chronomat opperates in two other totalizers, and it's seconds hand is a big hand. I really like the movement of the chronographs seconds hand, so I run it non-stop (synched to the watch's time). Is it OK to do so? Or can it potentially damage the watches movement in the long term?Thank you! :)
Hello All! I am in the market for my first Patek. I wanted to get some thoughts on different pieces. I am torn between the 5711, 5167, 5726 or 5164. My current collection consists of AP and Rolex. I have a 39mm EXI, 116718, 15300 and AP Diver on bracelet. I am not opposed to moving the diver or buying outright. I have not tried on a 5711, I have a 5712 but know that the 5712 wears slightly larger. I have worn a 5167 and love it however prefer the nautilus bracelet to the aquanaut's. That being said I would do the rubber strap. I am looking for some guidance on where to begin and what questions need to be asked etc...I don't have a clear direction with Patek. Many thanks all!
Hi all, I am currently saving towards a 5970G (I prefer the dial over the 5970P's black. Though I would much rather have a platinum to match the 3970P in the box, I just can't do the dial.) And the 5970J and 5970R don't really peak my love for PP perpetual chronos in white metal. This being said I was curious if anyone out there had a 5550P because, though it would delay a 5970G, the size, shape and thickness (or lack there of) really appeal to me and I loved the 5140P when I spent time with it (but don't care for the blue dial..though I love me some white/silver dials with blue straps..)Anywho if there are any 5550P owners out there if you could share your experience, photos are a must, and even perhaps a little video (because there are none). Thanks much! ''
