Audemars Piguet 26170TI.OO.1000TI.04 wrist watches news:
While people struggled to make lists of what their favorite pieces of 2010 were, I started thinking about the future. Sure, 2010 saw its share of really great pieces, but I think there is a lot we can look forward to. For me, I think 2010 did a great job at offering pretty good sub $10,000 watches. Few new movements, less tourbillons, and less glam. Instead, we saw more innovation in materials, as well as "keeping it simple." I was also surprised at the number of new brands. Good watches in the $2,000 - $4,000 range were certainly present, but I wanted to see much, much more of them. The economy seems to be improving a bit, and China is quickly becoming the new mecca for luxury watch dollars.? Here are my top five things I want to see from the watch industry in 2011:1. Sober PricingWith more and more brands selling direct, the cost of business goes down as middlemen go away. This should allow watch prices to go down (a lot in theory). I would like to see watch brands offer better value
Hi all,I've been an admirer of the vintage Hamiltons for a while. I've always loved watches, but not considered myself a collector or knowledgeable...I've recently purchased two Hamilton watches from ebay, a 1961 Storm King VII (10k gold filled) and a 1948 Secometer B (14k gold filled). I'm hoping I did okay on the prices, I was really just going with my gut, and I like the watches and tend to get caught up in last-second ebay bidding...Storm King VII.jpgSecometer B.jpgEither way, happy to join the community and I look forward to learning more.Adam
Hi All,I was recently lent a Stainless Steel SeaWolf by my local AD for a review, which I posted here a little while ago. After my review I really, really wanted one. However, when I spoke to my local AD he said he had a BNIB Ti SeaWolf that he could sell me and then would give me my full money back when I upgraded to the SS SeaWolf. A no-brainer really. However, I'm not sure I will want to sell this Ti SeaWolf. I love it. It truly is the definitive, utilitarian, designed-for-a-purpose tool watch. I'm not sure I could find another NOS Ti SeaWolf at an ADs if I were to change my mind. Here are a few quick and dirty pics I taken at work. I will post better pics and a mini-review shortly.[/quote]
HiI just received my second Illinois watch. An Ensign dated appx. to 1929. The watch runs great. I would like your opinion on restoring. I think a vintage watch should look its age. I would like the opinion of you Illinois veteran collectors.ThanksTony
so last week I got myself an AP. A ROO Panda on bracelet. It's a gorgeous timepiece and I can't stop staring at it. Purchased it from a nice salesman named Howard at Traditional Jewelers in Newport Beach. Couldn't have done it without the help of TRF User SR/1, my old college roommate who lives in another state (thanks for the savings on tax bud). He took the un-boxing photos. All photos were taken using his iPhone 4S and my iPhone 4S. Except the last one, taken with my Nikon while watching The Master's on my DVR this morning
