Audemars Piguet 67540SKZZA010CA01 wrist watches news:
High horology isn¡¯t just about movements: it¡¯s also about aesthetics. The watch brands in Geneva call on a range of decorative techniques, such as guillochage, enameling, and skeletonizing, that can add as much to the cost of watch as can a notable manufacture movement. Here,?four watches showcasing the skills that some high-end watch companies call the ¡°metiers d¡¯art.¡±Jaeger-LeCoultre¡¯s Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu, a new version of its razor-slim Master Ultra Thin, looks simple but is anything but. Above its 1.85-mm-thick movement, Caliber 849, rests a dial made using the very demanding grand feu (French for ¡°big fire¡±) enamel technique, so named because of the particularly intense heat it requires (800 to 900 degrees C). The enamel is applied in layers; each is fired separately. An instant too long in the oven and the dial, made of gold, is ruined. Jaeger is proud indeed of the dial: the words ¡°¨¦mail Grand Feu¡± (¨¦mail is French for enamel) are inscribed between 7 and 8 o¡¯clock. The w
Dear All,this year I have planned one or maximum two new watches. One is an old gral of mine, the AP RO but I have nothing to ask about it except am I going to be able to afford it (and will I want to put all that money in a watch)? The other would be what I call a "classical Japanes watch". One like the Grand Seiko SBGR051. I know that Rolex and possibly other make similar watches but my first watch was a Citizen manual wind with that shape, my parents used to have similar shaped Citizen and Seikos and to me that is what a Japanese watch is supposed to look like. I have made a short list of some watches like that, I would like to hear your opinions and maybe hear whether I am missing some model from my list.(1) Of course the SBGR051 and similar GSs. Pluses to me are that it is a GS, it should be perfectly finished and should be possible to service it during the next 50 or 60 years, after which probably my interest for watches will be faded. The only minus is maybe the price for a watc
The weather is getting better so less dark blue jeans for me! I think this strap works well, giving a more sporty look:What do you guys think?Kind regards,Cinq
In my very first post, I asked who made a B-17 Flying Fortress' clock that my dad had made into a desk clock. Well, here it is (apologies- this is my very first try at digital photography)....A FEW SHOTS OF IT AND THE BASE IT IS MOUNTED IN...AND THE MOVEMENT MADE BY LE COULTRE (I FORGOT TO NOTE THE CALIBER NUMBER BUT I'M SURE IT WAS MADE BETWEEN 1942 AND 1944 )
Hi allI'm considering getting a speed masterI have a Rolex currently which I will keep and have been eyeing up the speed master for some time now. I like the clear caseback and the whole idea and history of the moon watch holds appeal also. The traditional simple iconic look I think is great. I'm open to used. Any thoughts as to which model I should be steering towards? In some ways I don't want to go with the new models due to the subtle changes that have gone on over time. Any buyers on here I might go to?All help much appreciatedThanksSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
