- This beautiful shell watch ran extremely and was too tight on my wrists. I gave it to my daughter and the battery went dead after one wearing. So glad I cancelled the second one which was on waitlist.

Audemars Piguet 26165IO.OO.A002CA.01 wrist watches news:
I presume the above watch (update: called the Parmigiani Ovale I believe) will be officially released very soon (SIHH 2012 at the latest). It will actually be unveiled (not sure in its complete form) at a special "Mechanical Wonders" exhibition Parmigiani is involved in held in New York City from around October 26 - November 26 2011 (at the La Vieille Russie) . As you can see, the special novelty is a modern recreation of a complication that is over 200 years old - and the original solution to the short hands problem!I believe that I have actually seen the antique pocket watch below at some exhibit in Europe. Signed by Vardon & Stedmann, the beautiful piece is in an oblong gold and decorated case with an enamel dial. The real fun is in the hands. The watch makers created two telescopic hands that automatically get longer or shorter depending on where they are pointing to on the dial. Even back then there were people like me who hated short hands, and didn't want to limit themselves
The Tachymeter or Tachometer bezel on your Chronograph is a simple calculator for determining approximate speed in MPH/KPH, or determining a simple rate of production. For speed estimates, you need a measured mile or kilometer. As the object you want to time enters one point on the measure (milepost) start the stopwatch function of your chronograph. When it reaches the next milepost, stop the second hand. An estimate of mph is read off the bezel. Here is an example. The time to travel the measured mile took 20.2 seconds or ~179 mphRate of production can also be determined. If you are watching an assembly line, or timing an event (say chugging a bottle of water), you start the timer at the beginning of the event. You stop after the end of the event, or when another product comes off the assembly line.Using our example above; if 1 widget was made during the 20 seconds timed, then 179 widgets are being produced per hour. Or you are chugging a bottle of water at the rate of 179 bottle
For some time now I¡¯ve been posting some non gentlemen remarks about Patek Philippe on various threads. Even though it was my personal opinion I¡¯ve posted a little distastefully . I knew about the brand before joining TRF but not really much more other than it was an expensive luxury watch ... To all Patek Philippe owners and enthusiasts I personally give my sincere apologies... I¡¯ve become more appreciative of the brand being on TRF and who knows maybe one day I may sport a Calatrava as a dress watch ...
All,I would welcome any thoughts on my choice between the two! Thanks
Very blessed to have these two Smiling faces in my life!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
